Shame less people! In the recently concluded Assembly elections, the people clearly rejected the DMK and its alliance partner, the Congress. Yet, disregarding the people’s verdict, the Congress party has joined the TVK cabinet today. This is not merely an anti-people act — it is thoroughly a shameless one. They have staged a fraud by sneaking into power through the back door. For TVK, it appears that the need for support to keep the government stable has led them to accommodate the Congress in the ministry. At the same time, it is worth noting that parties like Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), the Communists, and the Indian Union Muslim League — all of whom have been staunchly backing and bootlicking the DMK — are now discussing joining the government, while simultaneously criticising the TVK government as a “hopeless” or “minority” government. If they truly have courage, VCK, the Communist parties, and the Muslim League should openly declare that they are quitting the DMK alliance, and only then continue to participate in the government or extend support. Likewise, if the DMK genuinely has any sense of shame or self-respect, it should clearly and firmly state that VCK, the Communists, and the Muslim League are not part of its alliance. Continuing in the DMK alliance while doing all this is not just a weakness for the TVK government — it is a weakness for the entire state of Tamil Nadu.
