@blakecallens @bschultzy No, not accusing you of lying. I think you are assuming that your audience has all same the dots connected that you do. You allude to connections above that I’m not clear on.

@jjoehlerich @bschultzy So, to be clear, you’re accusing me of lying about this? Because, if remotely true, it would be enough for a normal person to accept the equivalence. With Basham, specifically, there’s far more, BTW.
Blake Callens@blakecallens

@EJK_Econ @bschultzy Sure, that's what I think when two Claremont Lincoln Fellows known for their extremist work, both, at times, in the service of a Christian Nationalist "aligned community" whose most notable resident runs a white-rights lobbying org for a neo-Nazi publisher, are headliners.

***Making the Case for Right-Wing Syncretism ft. Ron DeSantis*** I'm done being gaslit into thinking this is normal. You can have Jesus or you can have right-wing politics. You can't have both.

@blakecallens @bschultzy The problem w/ your analogy isn’t the concern…it’s that you haven’t demonstrated the evidence to the equivalent of “President of PP”. I’ve voiced my criticism of one speaker in another thread of Pr. Schulz’s. Doesn’t mean I’m inferring all the speakers embrace those views.

@jjoehlerich @bschultzy He’s not having lunch with them, he’s sharing a conference stage with them. Would you share a conference stage with the president of Planned Parenthood and not expect me to infer anything from it?

@blakecallens @bschultzy You’re going to need to be way more specific because “collaboration” can cover a variety of things. Such things may not always be wise, but it is not always an endorsement of ideas either.

@jjoehlerich @bschultzy If the other speakers were tied to Planned Parenthood would you hold the same standard? This isn’t guilt by association, it’s guilt by collaboration.

@blakecallens @bschultzy I’ve got my own concerns with white nationalism and CN, but not every connection makes every other person associated somehow tainted. A principled Christian can also exercise caution in applying guilt by association.

@blakecallens @bschultzy I don’t think that’s an exactly fair characterization. Harrison has been a frequent participant at this conference for many years. It’s only more recently that the conference has been able to highlight profile political names.

@bschultzy How shameful that the President of an entire denomination is doing a nakedly political conference like this.

@RedProdigal @shebringsjoy I’m not asking about doctrine…I’m asking about perception of what IS taking place now. As in, every few months the same account tweets out the same story as if it’s news. That’s manipulating outrage. That’s what is being pushed back against.

You are all in an uproar about Muslims buying old churches and setting them up as mosques…. If we were making more Christians, both by being open to life and sharing the reason for our hope, there wouldn’t be empty, decrepit churches for pagans to buy. I know, though, it’s easier to be mad at the Islamists than it is to acknowledge we’re the bigger part of the problem.

@shebringsjoy @RedProdigal I fully agree with what you say. My concern is getting worked up over which is being presented as news which really is an old story. I remember discussing this story nearly two years ago with accusations of “mass migration.” x.com/jjoehlerich/st…
Jeremiah Oehlerich@jjoehlerich

@winsomehess @PastorBowman @manofsteeele @LLMFOOT1580 It is bad that a beautiful church is becoming a mosque. But the cause is not “mass immigration.” The cause is those who love money such that they would willingly sell a beautiful church to those they know will convert for the worship of a false god for $250k.

There are also so many churches being made into venues and private homes- many more are going that way than for pagan temples. I see them all the time on Instagram. To be clear: I’m also particularly appalled at any Christian church being used by pagans for their worship, and I do view it as a sort of dominance move. But…. It’s our fault they’re doing so. The building sat empty, rotting, for almost 10 years. Why didn’t a Protestant congregation take it over?

@shebringsjoy I mean, I'm doing what I'm given to do to bring the light of Christ to the place that I've been called to. To love our neighbors and to bless them where they are. Doesn't mean I can't see what's happening with the Islamic invasion and speak to it. It is what it is.

@MetzUAC1530 This is a story which resurfaces online in cycles. The sale happened in ‘22. I completely agree w/ the criticism. I question why it keeps surfacing as if it’s something new.

No Christian church should ever be converted to a space for worship of false gods, be they Muslim, Mormon, Hindu, etc. The proper thing to do would be to tear it down and let something else be built there.
Dr. Maalouf ‏@realMaalouf

The historic St. Ann's Catholic Cathedral in Buffalo, New York, was sold to the local Muslim community for only $250,000 and will now be converted into a mosque. This is sad.

@NevinLawrence In the flashbacks, the crew discussed how they would end their lives after mission completion. If I recall, that discussion also included an explicit reference to doing cocaine - something which was then high-fived and celebrated by others.

Finally seeing Project Hail Mary with my oldest boys. Why is it rated PG-13? Nothing bad happens and I have not heard a single bad word. Also, phenomenal.

@brownmp @TheDonStein The list has a number of people who are certainly worthy of such offices. Some I know personally. But there are names on that list which should draw real ?s. For eg., this suggested CUI regent nominee who openly agrees with Mahler’s false doctrine…/4:

The LCMS has a Synodical polity. Clergy and congregations are overseen by Circuits, Districts and Synod. Each level is checked-and-balanced by another. The LCMS is not, to the surprise and discouragement of some overwrought busybodies, governed by blogs.

@brownmp @TheDonStein Case on point: at least two very prominent blogs/publications which identify as “confessional” promoted a particular list of LCMS candidates for nomination. The problem? The list included both faithful men and persons who openly defended excommunicated and false teaching…/2
