@WhatTheForkAVFC Add to the fact most of them thought that aesthetic was about size and you really do worry for the education in that country

I’m starting to feel sorry for the Americans that actually do love our sport, follow our teams passionately and actually know what they’re talking about. All this furore because we had the audacity to criticise below standard pitches and the loud ones, that have grown up being told they’re the best at everything and bigger = better, can’t handle it.

@ihrtphhrry I am sure you also said this when the Women's WC was held in Australia and not because you simply dislike the US? 🤣

The concept of the football World Cup being in a country that calls it soccer is baffling to me

@barca6time Ran into a few Egypt fans here in Washington state where the Egypt home base is. They said they are having a blast already and that the people have been extremely welcoming. Manufactured Social media outrage never represents reality. 🤷

the World Cup is supposed to unite everyone and I’m seeing the complete opposite on this app.

@ThubelihleM12 @reaschwarz Better football nation who has like 7 stadiums who meet basic capacity requirements to host, and only 1 that meets quarters/semis/Final criteria. Mexico will never host on its own again.

@Toneekym They don't just not give a reason lol. There's nothing random about a visa rejection. Paperwork/forms? Lack of proof of hotel/lodging accommodations? Lack of proof of financial ability to exist in the country?

Imagine a world cup where fans get denied Visas. So who will watch the matches, we all know what football Americans watch

@sapphyreblayze This is like saying an incident happened in Bolton, but people in Manchester barely survived the bullet fire. Therapy is available for free there, yeah?

@Spurs_Optimist @dvk415 Like any country, the majority of them happen in pockets. Just because you can't understand that the vast majority of them are domestic/gang/isolated, and that tourists or teams literally have nothing to worry about, doesn't make my point invalid.

@jemull_ We don't like the prices (except Atlanta, they do it right). We tailgate or go to the pub/bar before the match and maybe have a snack and a couple of drinks at the match. Even at that, you'll find the lines at concessions to be long, so people still clearly pay the higher price

It just seems like this World cup doesn't have any Cultural side to it. America hosting the world cup makes it feel so empty. Compared to other host countries like South Africa, Brazil and Qatar, I felt the cultural impact of these countries. Maybe it's just me though.

@Spurs_Optimist @dvk415 There were ~14k gun related deaths in the US that weren't suicides in 2025. That is 0.004% of the population. 😂 but yes go on with how bullets are flying in the streets of all 20,000 towns in the US every day.

@DanZaddy Everyone will be fine. We did it just fine in 1994 when gun violence was triple the per capita rate it is today. Get off social media and walk around. You might accidentally find pleasant people, good food, and great times.

I just hope we don’t loose any player or fan to a gun shot in the USA. There was no reason why that fucked up country should be hosting a sport like football !!

@Gray_phill47 @JackMac Mexico has 1 stadium that even qualifies for Quarters/Semis/Final based on capacity requirements alone. The thought they could host on their own is comical. 🤣
