I used to pay £1,500 a month for web developers.
Profile picture needed updating.
Email to deveoper.
Address changed on a service page.
Email to developer.
Bio slightly wrong.
Email to developer.
They reply the next day.
Fix it two days later.
Invoice me at the end of the month.
Every month. £1,500. Gone.
Last week I described a change I needed.
Pressed enter.
Done in 30 seconds.
The hard part wasn't replacing him.
It was the six months before I could.
Every site mapped out.
Every workflow documented.
Every skill built from scratch.
AI didn't replace my developer.
I built something that made his job 1000x more efficient.
There's a difference.
If you run a small agency right now, the question isn't "can AI do this job?"
It's "do you understand your own problems well enough to build for them?"
I still use developers, but we ship more per day than we ever have and I think speed and volume can be a moat right now if combined with common sense and taste.

The boring part of marketing is still where the money is.
We keep looking for new channels, but there haven’t been many truly new ones in the last decade.
What still breaks campaigns is basic message match.
Someone clicks a green ad about gut health, then lands on an orange page talking about sleep. You lost them before the page even has a chance to convert. The product may be great, the offer may be strong, but the trust is already leaking.
That’s why tools like Replo for Shopify or personalized B2B ad-to-page flows matter. If the ad speaks to a company, the landing page should carry that same context. Same promise. Same visual language. Same intent.
Grüns reportedly built a $1.2B headline outcome with a small team because they understood something a lot of marketers skip: scale does not excuse sloppiness.
The new advantage is not always a new channel.
Sometimes it is taking the old fundamentals seriously enough to make every click feel like it landed in the right place.
