@Braves wow no surprise bad news

The #Braves today reinstated RHP Raisel Iglesias from the injured list and designated RHP Carlos Carrasco for assignment. Additionally, LHP Dylan Dodd tonight begins a rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett. The club also transferred INF Ha-Seong Kim’s rehabilitation assignment from Double-A Columbus to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Yeah Lopez/Fuentes not being able to pitch back to back days is extremely restrictive. Add that Bummer being unreliable, the 6-man rotation leaving them one reliever short, and the Iglesias/Dodd injuries they’re asking Walt to manage an extremely difficult bullpen situation rn

Weiss said they might wait until Wednesday to activate Iglesias, but that was before the pen was an issue last night. Assuming Iggy is activated and Carrasco is DFA’d, the Braves would have at least 5 relievers available tonight. Kinley and Bummer won’t be available. The question is whether Martin Perez will be. Weiss said Perez may need to make a start this week. If that means Holmes is going to the bullpen, then the pen depth might actually be stronger going forward. Too many long relievers currently in the pen. Fuentes needs to be protected. But it’s time to make Lopez available for back-to-back appearances
