@kurohouou @retrotink2 Oops! Yeah, just noticed profiles change that setting. I thought it was profile indepenent for a moment since default profile and FV310 both set it to 1000, but just noticed the others have unique values. Sorry for the noise

@_SixelAlexiS_ @BlurBusters HDMI 2.0 output is a factor. For retro use it's a choice between 4k60 with the resolution to convincingly emulate CRTs or 1080/1440p with BFI. Most reviews are focusing on CRT parity. I definitely want to grab one for Switch and HDTV (sports) BFI. TBD on 4k vs BFI for retro

@BlurBusters It's really sad that not a single review yet of the #retrotink4k cared about talking it's BFI Control, it's one of the most important features and it's being overlooked. Hopefully soon we will get a deep down on all the settings you've implemented, your work deserves it <3 !!!

Getting ready for one of Blur Busters ever biggest unveils, and I'm going to be helping an invite-only venue (hotel room exhibit) at CES 2024. TestUFO 2.0 HDR is only one component. 12+ hour workdays 7 days/week crunch time, with two concurrent deadlines for two Hz+HDR companies.

@Roach_B_me It's hilarious because its only been ~1 year since FB/IG/WA went down for 6+ hours due to a routine maintenance task gone wrong (engineering.fb.com/2021/10/05/net…) If (when?) an issue of that scale hits Twitter, they're toast. The folks left aren't the ones that solve those issues.

My feed has been inundated by people like this who literally have no idea what they're talking about. Some of them even write simple software for a living, just nothing that encompasses even 1% of the systems complexity needed to handle the massive scale of Twitter.

@seancribbs Missed y'all too. Scaled back Twitter after '16, forgot to renew my VPS running my bouncer for ex-Basho IRC in '20, then pandemic hit and I lost track of 2 years. Bought a house, played Splatoon, worked a ton, and cared for my since-departed cats. All a blur. Time to reconnect

In 2011, I tweeted about a side project (riak_zab) leading to argv0 (miss you bud) DM'ing about a job at Basho. I left grad school to join a dist sys rocket ship. Built amazing things. Gave/heard amazing talks at RICON. Inspired others. Still cherish that time. TY Twitter 1.0

Assume you get paid $1M per year no matter what you do, but you still gotta work 40 hours a week What would you pick to work on?

Even if you believe Elon can build Twitter 2.0, why spend $44b on Twitter 1.0, trash everything, and build from there? 44b is a huge user acquisition budget. That's almost 2x Uber VC total. He didn't even play the subsidized growth game. Just burned the money to be king.

Twitter has <400m users. Elon could have built his own Twitter clone and paid everyone $100 to switch. He could haved lured advertisers by matching ad spend up to some threshold. This would fit his usual Elon vs incumbent narrative. He doesn't value staff/tech, wtf did he buy?

🧵"Twitter 2.0" is trending. I'm a foremost expert on this and let me tell you what you should do: quit, take the 3 month severance with your friends, and build the 2.0 version yourself. Musk will give up and buy your company in a couple years.

@sargun "Nobody" is nonsense. Plenty used/still use Riak without issue. It's not meant to be a world + dog solution. Just need a handful of customers that care about extreme availability (including partition tolerance) willing to pay top dollar. Focus on best-in-class for that niche.

Really wonder if Basho 2.0 could be a thing. Given a different playbook, is there any money to be made from a laser-focus on extreme reliability and fault-tolerance in 2018?

@gwenshap That said, if someone created a Basho 2.0, they'd probably be able to hire most of us. But, that's a very hard company to fund/run/grow
