Without a shadow of doubt, voter ID requirements deterred voters today in #Thetford who would otherwise have been able to legitimately vote. Concerns about out of date passports, not sure what ID was permissible, or having no ID or missing ID prevented people voting - shameful

@katylou13 The only reason the 30 For Thetford is happening is because each County Cllr gets £6k a year to spend on local, small scale highways projects - it took both Thetford county cllrs two years worth of month to afford the scheme - a roundabout sadly somewhat out of each for us

My quote in @EDP24 re speed reductions planned for #Thetford roads: "I am very pleased that our campaign for 30 For Thetford is progressing - this is something that has clear support from Thetford residents, businesses and elected representatives. mph speed limit across the town.

@CllrTerryJermy Yes, that’s a shame because it needs action, especially as the town gets bigger. Maybe rather than hoping for developers to do things it should be enforced! Thanks for replying, it is useful to know why it’s not being done instead of the 30mph, it seemed to me more likely to help

@katylou13 Do you mean the Croxton / Mundford Rd junction? If so, plans drawn up to introduce traffic lights but it’s costly and #Norfolk County Council doesn’t have the funds to pay for it and is hoping the housing developers will fund it at a future date as housing phases progress

@CllrTerryJermy Are there any plans to sort that junction out too? It’s pretty awful as a pedestrian and I’m not convinced the next person who gets hit there is going to be too well off even if the car is going 30 instead of 40.
