I want to make it abundantly clear: UNLIKE Donald Trump, I want to make it cheap and easy to build housing so the cost of housing comes DOWN and MORE people can afford to buy a home.

@RepRobinKelly 310 divided by 365=84.9 cents per day. Not bad since we were paying almost triple that under Biden.

President Trump’s policies are forcing families to pay more for food every day. While Republicans play political games, working people are paying the price at the grocery store.

Congress needs to overwhelmingly pass my Bivens Act. If Republican Senators can receive $500k because their electronic records were legally obtained, then you should be able to sue Kristi Noem for violating your civil rights.

Lee Merritt@LeeMerrittesq·
@donlemonofficial was arrested by federal agents last night in Los Angeles while covering the Grammy Awards. He faces federal charges under the FACE Act and the KKK Act for allegedly interfering with religious freedom at a Minnesota church on January 18, when anti-ICE protesters disrupted a Sunday service. Don has been a journalist for 30 years doing constitutionally protected work. His attorney, Abbe Lowell, calls this an “unprecedented attack on the First Amendment.” Don maintains he was there solely as a journalist covering the protest. The chief federal judge in Minneapolis already rejected these charges for lack of probable cause. Now the Trump Justice Department has obtained a grand jury indictment and arrested him anyway. This is the question: Is covering a protest the same as participating in it? The First Amendment exists to protect journalists like Don who hold power accountable. We stand with him.

@LeeMerrittesq If a journalist's actions, such as yelling, chanting, or blocking aisles, cross the line from passive observation to active interference or physical obstruction, they can be arrested and prosecuted under the FACE Act and state laws.

@LeeMerrittesq Conduct vs. Speech The law regulates conduct (disruption, physical obstruction, threats), not the content of speech or journalistic activity itself. Peaceful observation and recording in public spaces are generally protected, but a church is private property.

Mike Levin@MikeLevin·
The arrest of Don Lemon is a chilling attack on the First Amendment and a free press. He was acting as a journalist, documenting a protest, not participating in it. Arresting reporters for doing their jobs is what authoritarian governments do. This is how journalism dies and how democracies fall. If we normalize it, we put all of our freedoms at real risk.
