I can’t lie, after what’s happened and seeing just how easily this market is manipulated, makes me question if this is the industry for me. Been doing this for 5 years and right now I’m struggling to see the “future of finance” in all of this. Many people completely lost their livelihoods through the actions of a few extremely powerful people. “Don’t use leverage” sure, but a lot of people had very safe positions - margins that shouldn’t have ever come close to being called. A good portion of traders have been completely wiped out. People that were trying to get out of the rat race, buy a house, create a better future for themselves. You can’t do that without taking some risk. Crime is absolutely rampant here with virtually no repercussion, especially for the people at the top. I am extremely conflicted. I loved this industry but it’s changed a lot since I started, not for the better. All I have left are my NFTs, I’m lucky. A lot of people woke up today with nothing, years of work - vanished.
