@CatholicDrip___ I believe Catholics don't follow Jesus. But the church was established by Jesus which Catholics insist they are a part of. Doesn't make sense.

@UcheMaryOkoli I answered you and you still do not believe the Bible or Scriptures. The Bible tells us that ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. God uses people who are not perfect, but may have the right kind of heart for God.

I need Protestants to actually point to me exactly where it is mentioned in the Bible that "Mary is a sinner." Since you are sola scriptura, let's go sola scriptura. Just one part in the Bible where it is said, explicitly that "Mary, the Mother of God is a sinner." Because I'm tired of seeing your heresies in my comment section every time I talk about Mary. Mary was born sinless. She died sinless. Period! But if you have proof of Mary being sinful, show me.

@CatholicDrip___ 2 Timothy 3:15 tells us that ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine (or teaching). I thought Sola Scripture meant only Scripture. According to 2 Timothy 3:15, Scripture is all we need, and I am neither a Catholic or protestant.

1 Timothy 3:15 - “The church is the Pillar and foundation of the truth” Since only the Catholic Church was around for the first 1500 years, it’d have to be the “Pillar of Truth” Either Protestantism is wrong or the Bible is wrong. Take your pick!

@thyflameoflove The church was not called a catholic church in the beginning. It was the Lord's church. And those who followed the Lord Jesus Christ were called Christians. Not Catholics. If you follow Jesus (a disciple) you are a Christian.

🚨 The word “Christian” came from the Catholic Church. Here’s the proof... 👇 Calling Catholics “not Christian” only works if you ignore the Bible and early Christian history. The word Christian first appears in the book of Acts: “It was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.” (Acts 11:26) That same Church in Antioch is also where the word Catholic was first used to describe the universal Church. Around 107 AD, St. Ignatius of Antioch, a disciple of the Apostle John, wrote: “Where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” Ignatius was the bishop of Antioch, living just one generation after the Apostles. He learned from men who personally knew Jesus. This shows that the earliest Christians were already using both words in the same place and time. Biblically and historically, Christian and Catholic are not opposites. They come from the same Church founded by Christ. Catholics believe Jesus is Lord, believe in His death and Resurrection, are baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and profess the Creed that defines Christianity. Scripture says there is “one Lord, one faith, one baptism.” (Ephesians 4:5) You may disagree with Catholic teachings. But history cannot be erased, and Catholics cannot honestly be separated from the Church Christ established. If Catholics are not Christian, then Christianity would not exist until the Reformation. And that would mean Jesus failed to keep His promise: “The gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18) 🤔 If the Catholic Church isn’t Christian, then where was the true Christian Church before the 1500s?

@BillArnoldTeach None. Jesus established the Lord's Church. A Christian is a follower of Christ and believes God's word. A denomination is a branch of Christianity such as a baptist, Methodist, Catholic or other church, that follow some other doctrines, or people other than just the Bible.

@BillArnoldTeach You are also making it a debate when you insist the bread & wine turn to His body & blood. There should be no argument about it since the word body, in this Scripture (2 Corinthians 11:24) can be taken either literally or figuratively.

@BillArnoldTeach The word body in Greek, in I Corinthians 11:24, had a very wide application, either literally or figuratively. Whether or not you believe it actually turns to His body & blood isn't as important as remembering Him & proclaiming His death when we take the Eucharist.

@BishopJaxi I don't know why some add alone to Ephesians 2:8-9. James 2:24 says, "You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only." Works and faith work together. "For by grace you have been saved through faith." A believer acts on his faith.

Why do Protestants always add "alone" to Ephesians 2:8-9 and completely skip verse 10? Why do they ignore Galatians 5:6, where Paul says what counts is faith WORKING through love? Why do they ignore Romans 2:6-7, where Paul says God will render to each one according to his WORKS, and eternal life to those who persevere in doing good? Why do they ignore 1 Corinthians 13:2, where Paul says faith without love is nothing? Why do they ignore Philippians 2:12, where Paul says to WORK out your salvation with fear and trembling? Why do they ignore James 2:24, the only place the phrase "faith alone" appears in Scripture, where it says we are justified by WORKS and not by faith alone? It is amusing that the people who claim the Bible is their ultimate authority have to add words, skip verses, and ignore entire passages to make their theology work.

Paul said we do: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” -Ephesians 2:8-9

@HoldenCCole I'm a Christian & do not hate Catholics. The Lord's Church was not called the Catholic Church in the Bible. The N.T. was written during the 1st century. Then Men began to depart from God's Word. The Catholic Church officially began in 590 A.D. & began to become powerful.

@CatholicDrip___ I John 5:13 tells us we can know we have eternal life by the things that are written, God's word. You need to search the Scriptures, not rely on traditions of men. Jesus would rebuke those who chose traditions over His word or commandments. Which is more important to you?

@UcheMaryOkoli Really? I can think of many. Scriptures tell us about the gospel and how it saves us and gives us eternal life. How Jesus died on a cross to save us, plus many other things about how to be a Christian. A Christian is a follower of Jesus and believes in the Gospel. Do you?

I'm just curious 🤔. What have we benefitted from sola scriptura? I can name a thousand things the world has benefitted from the Catholic Church. But I can't name one single good thing that has come out of sola scriptura or what the world has benefitted from it. Does anyone here know?

God picked Mary to birth His Son above anyone else - not you, your mother, or your sister... Hence, she's your spiritual mother in Christ, not your sister in Christ God picked the flesh - not the written word like in the OT to leave the church -, Not your symbols & Bible. God picked the Church father to preach, guide & put together anything in the Bible - not you, Pastor Bob or contradicting Reformers 1600 years later.... God picked one Holy, Apostolic, Catholic Church for the World - Not a million contradictive denomination. Hope this helps !
