A system that downloads files from an API/website and records the files it downloaded into a downloads table. Should it check for whether the file was downloaded by looking at the filesystem or by the downloads table? Which should be the source of truth?

The press release from @OpenAI regarding Sora is very impressive. We are approaching Turing test level content. Will be interesting to see how conversations around watermarking and disclosures around content shake out. Might even be a use case for NFT to verify authenticity.
