Max Verstappen has threatened to quit Formula 1 at the end of this season if planned changes to the engine regulations for next year are blocked. The FIA said recently that an agreement had been reached in principle to changes that would reduce the need for energy management from 2027. But opposition has emerged in subsequent talks around the detail of the plan and there is currently not enough support for the change to be passed.

@STFCinOz @SamMorshead_ Before the appeal it was actually a double division relegation from First to Third. It makes Southampton's own game and four point deduction seems mild. Remember the first not third campaign at the time.

@SouthamptonFC Not the worst punishment ever. That is reserved for Swindon who were relegated from Division 1 to Division 3 after winning the playoff final. Two whole divisions. You got one game and four point deduction.

An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubs’ training. In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table. The effect of today’s order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. @theawayfans I say there needs to be 2 refs on tbe field. One ref is not going to be right half the time and miss all of what happens behind him/her.

@theawayfans The foam spray should be used for referee decisions such as VAR. Stick the line down and retreat back. Any player crosses the line, yellow card. I think a referee did this recently?
