@lea_wigdoux @NICOLEKIDAMN It’s hard to fully appreciate foreign films w/o speaking the language. I speak 3 languages and I always point out errors in subtitles. They usually fail to capture the aura messages. I think it’s normal for ppl to prefer their native tongue bc they can understand context better

how is this pretentious? if you consider yourself a film fan- and don’t have at least one international film in your favourites then idk what to tell you. there’s an expansive world beyond american cinema so why is it improbable to assume that foreign films can’t be comparable. if you happen to be well versed in a lot of types of media/film i’d be shocked and a little concerned if all your favourites are strictly english :/
