@GrimmiVT @OzzyMandrake Running as an ineptendant candidate, then.
English

@OzzyMandrake I don't think I would make a good democratic candidate. I don't think I'd make a good republican one either
When the world wants someone stanceless and inept my time will come

The Flight 5 hype, tho...
SpaceX@SpaceX
The fourth flight of Starship brought us closer to a rapidly reusable future

@IlyasseL_ The capital sigma and pi are basically for loops of addition and multiplication respectively. The standard math language was developed for convenience of hand calculations, and should probably be discarded at this point for something more readable like a programming language.
English

Any Blender Nerd to try something like this inside of Blender ?
I'm just curious and can't understand it

I drew these chili peppers with mathematical equations.

@cmuratori While there's a good case to be made for some kind of arithmetic exception handling, a default of CRASHING on divide-by-zero is unbelievably stupid design. About two thirds of my divide-by-zero bugs have been for cases where the result of the calculation is unused.
English

Finally someone talks some sense about divide-by-zero. The number of additional conditionals in code (not to mention bugs!) that occur because this sensible choice wasn't made is astronomical.
crypticsea.bsky.social@crypticsea
you're probably wondering what happens if you divide by zero, it sets the destination register to zero and keeps going, like CPUs should've always done

@BRSxIgnition @biovf @Dachsjaeger Aspect ratios affects gameplay and difficulty. Uncapped framerate means your animators can't fully specify every frame the player will see. These are real design trade-offs. Microstutter sucks, but players are used to it, and that can be a rewrite-level fix.
English

@let_no_brick @biovf @Dachsjaeger It is a shame, yes, that all their releases (bar AC6 ironically) seem to have these Achilles heels.
I won't pretend they aren't amazing developers... But surely with the resources at their disposal they can add an optimization & features step to their development pipeline, no?
English

I really like @Dachsjaeger but peddling that folks at any studio are "bad at their jobs" because a product that's launched has issues is really not fair. There are a million reasons why a game might not perform properly/have bugs & 90% of them are not technical
Alexander Battaglia@Dachsjaeger
I am already seeing people posting random things like affinity changes, hardware device manager tweaks and more to affect the performance in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. A small hint: the problem is not in your PC, the problem is From Software being bad at their jobs.
English

@BRSxIgnition @biovf @Dachsjaeger Is it a shame? They're not just making hits, but deeply loved games. I think they must be prioritizing their efforts well.
English

@biovf @Dachsjaeger It's not technical though - it's that the priority for them is elsewhere, which is a shame.
They're fine with 60fps and no ultrawide support and microstutters everywhere because there's a conscious decision not to address these issues despite their obvious capability to do so.
English

@DUSKdev For some players, playtime is value. For others, playtime is cost. They don't always have perspective that the other kind exists.
English

@simplex_fx @PcPhilanthropy MSAA's great where it's most applicable, but it just doesn't work on a lot of the aliasing TAA is used for. It's not a good toggle, I think you should commit early on to one or the other.
English

@let_no_brick @PcPhilanthropy I'm no graphics programmer, but I also have a strong feeling that TAA at 240 FPS does not look better then MSAA at 120 or even 60 🤣
English

@OrihimeVT @GrimmiVT Cute designs, but I'd be careful with that astigmatism blur effect on the Grimmi one. Makes my eyes hurt to look at it, will probably make some people nauseous or give them headaches.
English

@Acerola_t ...and the way executives often act as the source of those issues is to inflict awful consultants on the main development team and require that they be satisfied. Certain consultants exist only to play that role, so if you see they worked on a game, you know what you're getting.
