@pepitoluver yes!! similarly, I really hate how w/ the PWHL some folks feel the league is above rivalries, chirps (respectful!!), and such. they are PRO ATHLETES! We should treat the league as such. We are allowed to dislike teams, chirp, and do hockey shit. it feels demeaning to say u can’t?

i feel like the whole “i just hope both teams have fun” approach during cup finals to women’s hockey is just reductive of the competitive nature of these PROFESSIONAL athletes. they’re not here to have fun, they’re here to fight for a trophy. idk how to word it better than this

Honestly maybe I'm just overtherapized and deluded in optimism but I am so glad Ottawa got so far. Women's hockey in Ottawa is in a very bright and beautiful spot. We should be so lucky for the incredible women who make the team to call our city home!
