@lnhrbn some interface components aren't backwards compatible, yes. Sorry, it's a free project so unfortunately keeping it conceptually very simple for myself.

I’ve been waiting for someone to complete the style quiz I built in Pica to help you organize your typefaces. It’s no small task, so I wanted provide a small sense of reward with this unique poster representing your collection.

Pica ( @joshpuckett ) is probably the best app I’ve used on my Mac lately… pica.joshpuckett.me

@joshpuckett Would it technically be possible to support macOS Sequoia (15), or are you relying on APIs that require Tahoe? If it’s just a deployment target choice, I’d be really interested in using it on Sequoia. Thanks a bunch

@pausedME 2. And why some others also feel strangely better when drinking alcohol. Alcohol can also change the GABA/glutamate ratio.

@pausedME 1. Thanks for sharing Martin. I'm so sorry for the backlash you experienced. Your theory makes sense to me. It can explain why many feel better on H1 blockers; they may not all have MCAS but too much glutamate, and histamine is a precursor to glutamate.

#MECFS #pwME 1/13 Some of the responses here, conspiracy claims, personal attacks, insinuations, and insults, have been far below any reasonable standard of civil discourse. I am not posting this for that audience, but for people who are suffering.

@TomKindlon A shame hEDS wasn't included in the iCPET! Especially since they say hEDS cohort comes with SFN and widespread Dysautonomia. What's the response to vigorous cardio exercise in the hEDS cohort?!

@ImmunoFever How does that work in endometriosis + me/cfs? Carnitine can worsen endometriosis lesions pain. Why is that?

Wow! This has been the huge question in #IACI mitochondrial dysfunction. If lactate is accumulating why won't the mitochondria just use that for fuel? Well... Guess what else is dysfunctional? Carnitine metabolism
Shingo Kajimura Lab@KajimuraLab

Our body (cells) have fuel preference, e.g., burning fat vs. carbohydrates, which depends on the environment and nutritional states. How do cells decide which fuels to use?  Our new study found that carnitine biosynthesis is crucial for fuel switching science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

@sunsopeningband What about exertion intolerance triggered by MCAS? What about vasodilation during an effort, or paradoxical decrease of blood pressure at max effort? Is that common in CPET?

Today’s unpopular opinion is maybe the worst development in Long Covid research has been confusing PESE with PEM. Just because a person may have unusual and disabling symptoms and signs after an exertion (PESE) doesn’t necessarily make it PEM. Please see the ICC-ME for details.

@Squashedhedgi @PutrinoLab A study expected soon involves LC patients with normal CPET who experience delayed worsening of symptoms and cognitive function after cognitive exertion. Whether this qualifies as PEM is of course another question, but it is measurable through multi-day neuropsychological testing

I was asked to respond to this. Honestly I don't pay too much attention to this account because I prefer to spend energy on people and things that build community in #LongCOVID and IACI rather than curating divisiveness, but this shouldn't go without rebuttal so here we go. 1/
Todd Davenport@sunsopeningband

Today’s unpopular opinion is that we’ve put too many resources toward studies looking into treating viral persistence, even though it seems to follow but does not lead in the pathophysiological process of Long Covid. These are studies on “pacing using meds” for the immune system.

I got invited to give a 10-hour course on ME/CFS for physical therapists, combining lecture and lab skills. It’s the first time I’ll have the chance to put this course together. I’m pretty excited about it. So, Twitter hive mind, what do I need to make sure gets in this course?
