Been having some real frustrating conversations lately. Tons of jr or mid career security people landing at places and getting no mentorship, no training. No support. Treated pretty aggressively by Sr resources. They were promised Sr people would be there to help, guide, and train. Instead they are threatened and obsfucate their working knowledge in fear of … replacement? I dunno. It’s sad. Have a working mentorship program and some training. As a cyber security company that is table stakes. Or lose out on the future, lose the next generation of protectors.

I think what's happening now in Israel is a similar situation to when President Trump took out terrorism chief Qassem Soleimani: Iran had to respond (for its domestic and terror proxy audience), but knew they'd be hit back ten times as hard if they killed a lot of folks. So, through backchannel communications, they let the US know what was coming, allowing everyone to take cover. I think Keith Kellogg's book is the best unclassified summary I've read about this. Thus, with these latest drone attacks, Iran saved face, but things didn't escalate. And with these latest terror attacks in mind, that's why Iran used the phrase "The matter can be deemed concluded". I may be wrong, but I hope I'm not, because this is how we avoid a further escalation. That said, Israel has an absolute right to go after anyone associated with October 7, and I hope they continue to do so.
