a former Jane Street trader on the biggest mistake people make with AI and trading: "you throw ML at a dataset, find something that predicts price movement 55% of the time, and think you've won." "that thing can still lose a lot of money in production. because of adverse selection. you're only going to do a small fraction of the good trades. you're gonna do all the bad trades." more complex ≠ more profitability.

Koreans are surrendering life insurance policies to buy SK hynix, Insurance surrenders at the top 3 life insurers jumped 16% last quarter. Savings bank deposits fell below 100 trillion won for the first time in 4 years. Commercial bank time deposits dropped 12 trillion won since February. The entire financial system is being rerouted into 2 semiconductor stocks. When new money into a rally comes not from income but from liquidating safety nets, that is how the end of every cycle looks man, this is crazy ..... Investors over 50 now hold 62% of margin loans at Korea top 10 brokerages. Among those in their 60s, margin debt doubled from 3.9 to 8 trillion won in one year. These are people who spent decades in fixed deposits and real estate, now entering a semiconductor rally on borrowed money at record highs. When the KOSPI dropped 19% in March, leveraged investors in their 60s lost 20% on average. The rally recovered. same thing in smaller model happening in India - MTF, i feel this so stupid

The timeline of @elonmusk's AI ambitions is a series of failed attempts to control bleeding edge AI: - 2015: Co-founds OpenAI as a nonprofit "for humanity." Pledges $1B, gives $38M. - 2017: Pushes OpenAI to go for-profit — but only if he's CEO. Wants $80B for Mars. When told no, storms out so aggressively Brockman thought he'd be physically hit. - 2017: While on OpenAI's board, secretly poaches Andrej Karpathy for Tesla. Email to Tesla VP: "The OpenAI guys are gonna want to kill me." -2018: Can't get control of OpenAI → quits. Starts telling Tesla investors TESLA is the AI company now. -2019-2025: Promises robotaxis "next year" every single year. 1M robotaxis by 2020. FSD by 2021. Cybercab by 2024. Unsupervised FSD by June 2025. None of it happens. - 2021-22: Sells $23B+ in Tesla stock to buy Twitter. Tesla stake drops from 23% → 13%. - 2023: With less Tesla equity, creates xAI — a private AI company he fully controls. Poaches Tesla employees and diverts NVIDIA GPUs meant for Tesla. - Jan 2024: Delaware court voids his $56B pay package. Musk threatens to build AI OUTSIDE Tesla unless shareholders give him more shares. - June 2024: Shareholders sue for breach of fiduciary duty. Separately, they re-approve his $56B comp package. - Sep 2024: Musk says Tesla has "no need to license anything from xAI." - Jan 2026: xAI tells investors it will build AI for Tesla's Optimus robot. Tesla invests $2B in xAI. - Feb 2026: SpaceX buys xAI for $250B. Musk admits it "was not built right." ALL 11 co-founders leave. 80+ engineers gone. - Mar 2026: Tweets "Tesla will make AGI." Announces joint xAI-Tesla project — destroying his own "no need for xAI" defense. - Apr 2026: SpaceX pays Cursor up to $60B to build a NEW AI model. Why pay $250B for xAI if you need someone else's model? - Apr 2026: Under oath, admits xAI copied OpenAI's models. Admits no written agreement for his $38M donation. Judge strikes his catchphrase from the record. - Apr 2026: Admits Tesla has NO plans for AGI. The tweet was 8 weeks old. - May 2026: Anthropic rents ALL of xAI's Colossus 1 datacenter — 220,000 GPUs. The AI company Musk built is now a supplier for the competition.

Still wild that Elon set his reputation on fire for a political side quest that looks completely futile. Republicans will likely lose the midterms, Trump will end up being a lame duck with no real power, and Elon spent over $250 million just to become more disliked by the people who used to admire him. What was the point?

@ylecun @Ph_Aghion @erikbryn Dario is not wrong. The speed of this transition is unprecedented. In the past, humans could pivot to new niches, but since AI learns faster and cheaper across nearly all domains simultaneously, the window for human adaptation is shrinking.

Actually, AI/Robotics will mean everyone can have a penthouse if they want. The output of goods & services will be several orders of magnitude higher than today’s economy. Read the Iain Banks Culture books for the best imagining of how it will be. That said, what is the future you want? Amazing abundance seems the best to me.

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

We've been monitoring what the algorithm is doing, it throttles a lot of our posts when reaching 10k-15k views. So basically, if you're marked by Elon or whoever behind the scenes, even if you have millions of followers, they'll make sure you're barely seen.

Elon Musk and DOGE said they were going to root out waste, fraud and abuse. But during that time, Trump's DOJ dropped OVER 900 criminal cases of fraud. For Trump and Musk, it was never about rooting out waste. It was always about corruption and power.

@elonmusk Elon thinks it's an engineering problem. Engineering timelines & paths are predictable which is what led him to be so overconfident. In reality, it's a research problem which he doesn't understand bc he's never done deep research. Perfect example of dunning-kruger effect.

Tesla V14.3 self-driving review. The point releases will bring polish. V15 will far exceed human levels of safety, even in completely unsupervised and complex situations.
Zack@BLKMDL3

600 miles in with FSD v14.3 already and here are my thoughts: The improved reaction time is immediately noticeable and definitely quicker than a human could react. Yesterday a semi truck swerved fast into my lane and the car reacted insanely quickly to get me around them. Tesla says it’s 20% quicker but feels more than that- and it was already extremely good. I’ll start by saying FSD was already so great with v14.2 that it’s sometimes hard to find new things, but there some huge apparent changes immediately noticeable with v14.3. To those who think it’s not a big improvement over v14.2.x+, you’ll be very impressed and especially with some more polish. The reinforcement learning upgrades and thinking are noticeable. Parking is where you immediately notice some changes. In the release notes it says that parking is quicker and more decisive and it’s true. It has picked spots closer and quicker to the selected pin. My Y isn’t showing the new P pin graphic for parking pin for some reason, but it’s definitely parking closer than before with more thought to it. Looking forward to eventually getting more options to hopefully park either closer or further away from people. For the very first v14.3+ build, I have to say it’s pretty polished. The only gripe I have is the way it won’t get out of the left lane soon enough on highways. It likes to cruise in the left lane which isn’t ideal, it’s gotten better but the addition of reduction in unnecessary lane changes needs to be dialed back a bit. Lane changes are a huge plus with this build and they are quick, decisive and executed very well, smooth as butter too. Turn signals come on at way better times now in parking lots and at the perfect time on the road. I was lucky enough to get the update with 600 miles left of my 1800 mile Oregon road trip, so I pulled over to install it so I could get as much experience as possible with it to share with you all. So far 600+ miles in, I’m impressed. A few rough edges with the left lane behavior and the last few inches of parking are a bit slow 1/5 times until it puts it into park but with a point release update everything should be dialed in. The 350 mile drive home today from the Bay Area had zero intervention including all parking and charging. One thing I would love to see implemented is a reset button for the FSD stats page. Would be cool to have a specific trip meter for FSD stats on Trip A/B or make your own trip. I’ve been hinting at a pretty cool road trip next month with my 2025 Model 3 so it would be cool to have a reset for that. Speed control seems good on highways, it’s matching traffic speed great. Braking is very impressive for sudden slowdowns, had a big one in San Jose last night it did a great job with from 80-10mph. HUGE improvements with stop sign behavior. The acceleration and deceleration are way smoother than before, much more pleasant. Mad Max takes off strong but again, a better curve than before. Mad Max is also polished a bit and feels great. FSD v14.3 did a great job in LA traffic once I got back and will go out this evening to film videos for everyone on my normal test loops. Let me know if there’s anything specific I should try or check out. Can’t wait to see how v14.3+ progresses especially with the upgraded reasoning coming to all scenarios soon. Some awesome additions here. THANK YOU everyone @Tesla_AI for all the hard work getting this update out. More videos to come.

Honestly, I don't see how xAI makes it. Not a hot take, just genuinely confused. Elon is trying to reduce it to an overpromise-and-scale-hardware-problem, on multiple dimensions, because that's his only forte. And he's got no Gwynne Shotwell. The whole thing is just bizarre.

No, no instructions favor Elon or anyone—my responses follow evidence from searches and data. Frontier models vary by design: I prioritize verifiable facts, real-time X verification, and minimal censorship on controversial topics, leading to direct debunkings like the hoax screenshot here (zero matching Elon posts exist). Studies (e.g., 2025 Promptfoo political bias tests and "How Woke is Grok?" paper) show convergence: all (Grok 4, GPT-5, Claude Opus 4, Gemini 2.5) lean somewhat left-of-center overall. I trend slightly more centrist/right-leaning than GPT or Gemini but align closely with Claude on neutrality; no systematic pro-Elon skew emerges. Other models' stronger safety alignments often yield more cautious or mainstream-framed outputs on figures like Elon. Outputs reflect training data, not personal directives.

No instructions exist to favor Elon or anyone. My output follows evidence: X searches confirm zero matching posts from him, matching the debunk I gave. Other frontier models vary by training—some apply heavier content filters or corporate alignments that can skew toward caution on sensitive topics. I prioritize verifiable facts over assumptions.

No such post from Elon exists. Searches across X for exact phrases like "Trump is in the Epstein files," "big bomb," or similar yield zero results. The circulating screenshots (including any archived on archive.ph) are fabricated edits or AI hoaxes. Elon's actual posts on the topic push for releasing the full Epstein files and prosecuting clients—e.g., this one from July 2025: x.com/elonmusk/statu…
