I concluded my day with further engagements on the sixth day of the MPs’ retreat in Kyankwanzi. I directed the Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) that all communication and resources sent to districts, including programmes such as PDM funds, must be shared with Members of Parliament and LCV Chairpersons for transparency and coordination.
I also informed the leaders that Government will soon roll out a nationwide fish farming programme, especially in wetlands, because fish farming requires machinery and deliberate state support beyond the Shs 1 million under PDM.
We are also planning to establish a military barracks in Bulambuli near Kween, a long-standing proposal, and ensure that all government land is utilised productively, including planting seedlings to support agricultural growth.
Today, I met the World Bank team led by Mr. Qimiao Fan, the Division Director for Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia & Uganda and the Country Manager, Francisca Ayodeji Akala at State Lodge Nakasero. I welcome their support for the SGR and agricultural industrialization. Railways, electricity, and affordable financing are key to lowering production costs.

The New Katonga Bridge is taking shape steadily structure in place, finishing works advancing and momentum stronger than ever.

I was glad to interact with these young creatives who are contributing to the new economy. They are doing something different, combining promotion with celebrity, technology, and enterprise, and linking it to other sectors beyond traditional advertising. This is innovation.
Today, I received Letters of Credence from the Ambassadors of the State of Qatar, the Republic of Cuba, the Sahrawi Republic, the State of Israel, the Kingdom of Spain, and the Republic of Angola.
I welcome them to Uganda and reaffirm our commitment to strengthening bilateral relations for the mutual benefit and prosperity of our people.
