@Peter_Fitz Knowing the car you have (I have same brand, different model) there are two other downsides: having to change wiper fluid say every 10 months(!); and giggling every time the somewhat pathetic wipers come on. I think that’s it.

Only downside. Tyres need much more frequent changing. Few abrasions on paint-work, but my fault not the car's!
