That's a wrap on Saros! Overall had an incredible time and it's hard for me to not see it making my top 10 this year in some way. I spent about 30 hours combing through all the biomes, exploring every path, taking on every boss and perfecting my runs to the point that I became a lean, mean, killing machine lol. I can't start without first mentioning the fantastic gameplay. Saros feels like Housemarque in top form. Just moving around the world feels fast, fun, intuitive and navigating each level is supremely smooth. Each weapon has solid 'oomph' when firing with great feedback and smacking enemies with your fist was quite satisfying. I genuinely enjoyed fighting every enemy and every boss. Almost all of the boss fights were beautiful spectacles as expected (Rhabdom was fairly straightforward). Architect, Priestess, Shepherd and the final boss were mesmerizing and so fun to fight. I do wish there was a bit more weapon variety, and while I did experiment with some of the more 'exotic' weapons like the crossbows and chakrams, I mainly stuck to the Smart and Tactical rifles. I also really liked building off Returnal with new mechanics like the shield and parry, which made battles more strategic. The power weapons are an awesome addition and tying their usage to the shield is super cool. Prominence was my go to, while the Dispiritor was a close second. While I will say it does feel...'easier' than Returnal overall, I still loved the sense of progression I felt with each successive run. Dying never felt cheap, and die I did lol. Upgrading attributes and increasing in proficiency added to the sense of 'getting stronger', learning each biome and perfecting the art of taking down each boss. By the end I felt like an unstoppable badass. The game gets heaps of praise on the audiovisual front too. Each level is just gorgeous with stunning gothic style architecture, dilapidated marches and canyons, beautiful skyboxes (that eclipse!) and excellent lighting and texture work. Character models are fairly high fidelity and well done. I played on a PS5 Pro and image quality was super sharp with rock solid performance. Audio design is just *chef's kiss*. Everything from simple menu navigation to picking up items to traversing the world is accompanied by a deep pang, hum or alien sound. It's all a treat for the ears. The soundtrack is incredible and roars, especially during boss fights and other intense fights which all adds to the 'epicness' of each battle. I found the story more straightforward than Returnal and yet I enjoyed what I experienced a bit more. It was cool to see a flawed character in Arjun and someone who isn't perfect. The lore and history behind Carcosa was fairly intriguing too and some of the revelations later in the game, including what happened to the original colonists, were super neat. Overall I had an amazing experience. I'm so glad these kinds of straight action games still exist and I'll be there for whatever @Housemarque does next. Rock on and keep doing your thing ❤️ (hoping for DLC!) #Saros #PS5Pro

It’s not a gimmick. IMO, it’s a combination of the club’s location in North London and the diverse communities that surround it, how it has engaged those changing communities for a very long time and also, the incredible influence of black players in the 80s/90s who shaped the culture of the club like Rocky (RIP), Super Kev (RIP) and @IanWright0

It’s the entitlement to the job. Sacked after 14 games in Serie B, manages the feel good story of the century by having a mid table PL wage bill go up from the Championship and treads water at Chelsea where we were dull 90% of the time. Equivalent of Charlie Kirk going from TPUSA to Fox if he lived
TheBluesFeed@TheBluesFeed

People wondered why I hated Maresca! Geezer was begging for the city job while at Chelsea and then quit the game before we played them. Don’t worry you will all hear about it soon enough :)

@slbsn I have said this before and will say it again. Chelsea's financial position is precarious and there is no chance they will let Alonso to have full control of the squad and so of the gems have to be let go to make sure Chelsea are in compliance of FFP. Alonso is not going like it.

🚨🤓Alonso, UEFA and Chelsea's refusal to pursue austerity Chelsea's UEFA situation is intriguing after yesterday's defeat and the failure to grab the Europa League place. Alonso is obviously an expensive hire (probably £15-20m pa) and clearly is not expecting to deal with austerity. Chelsea are already briefing that they are in the market for 3/4 signings. No trophies and a low league position is will, however, at least mean lower bonuses for Chelsea's famous "heavily incentivised contracts". No European football would be a big Premier League advantage next season and Europa League is likely to be out of range today. It would also mean their inaugural PL Squad Cost ratio will be 85% (plus up to another 30%) albeit all off a lower revenue base. This would certainly give the club more PL breathing space. But if Chelsea don't even qualify for the Europa Conference (now the reward for an 8th finish), Chelsea have no option to take a one-year ban next season in breach of the Settlement Agreement and reset. Chelsea have always denied they would even consider that anyway. But that leaves the one-year UEFA ban risk and annual €20m UEFA fines persisting off a greatly reduced revenue base for the 26/27, 27/28 and 28/29 UEFA tests. That, in all likelihood, is a Champions League ban risk if Alonso is going to deliver to plan. Player sales aside at profit there are no obvious (or even not obvious) ways to address shortfalls in the UEFA tests. So what is the plan? A new inventive financial scheme to address UEFA issues, an ostrich approach to the financial underperformance, the sale of Cole Palmer? It is really not apparent. More here

Chelsea will finish above us next years in my opinion. Not just because they have a better manager than us but the fact they’re only going to be playing once a week. With us playing UCl football I have a feeling it’s going to catch up to us as I have no confidence in the board bringing in the 6/7 players minimum we need.
