A lot of teachers are stressed because their students are not where they expect them to be by this point.
They need to give themselves some grace. They can’t teach twice as hard and the kids can’t learn twice as fast.
We just take them where we get them… and move them forward.
Kids don't plan to come to school to get into trouble. Behaviour is a form of communication and quite often - the reason for it will make you sad, not angry.
Sphero STEM camp in 6th grade science this week. No better way to practice calculating average speed from multiple trials! These students LOVE this engaging coding experience. #CGI#WeHOP#WeAreCaneyCreek
Educators are not defined by the test scores they generate or the programs they implement. I think their greatness is found in the hundreds of little interactions they have with students every day. They are what will be remembered. They are what make a difference for kids.
Relationships before rigor means that students will work harder for teachers they trust, feel connected to and know cares about them. Its the same for adults too.
I’m inspired by teachers. But it is not usually their lessons that I find inspiring. It is their energy… their heart… and their passion, that fire me up. These teachers make the school a better place just by walking in the door.

There's nothing more powerful than a humble person with a warrior spirit who is driven by a bigger purpose. Remember your WHY this week. Let it fuel you to keep going no matter what.
Teachers are not simply raising student achievement; they are developing better humans. Education doesn’t just open doors of personal opportunity; it allows young people to engage their world in a more compassionate and constructive way.
