@gardensinboots It's heartbreaking what a missed opportunity this was. Who is making these decisions? Bradford st is ugly and unused as there's nothing on it to cycle to.

@youngvulgarian Ribs are generally tough, but not universally. Some people are absolutely fine with it, and everyone I tattoo manages ok. But it might be 2-3 hour sessions, not full days. So it's tough but doable. Thighs can be surprisingly tough for some people too.

@matthuntmba @jordanbhx I assure you it was a priority but turning the tide is a mammoth undertaking that requires relentless challenge and political will. It will be one of the hardest things the city has done, if achieved.
It’s very important that leaders are clear this is still a priority.

There was a sense that progress was being made on making our streets safer but we are still waiting for a replacement Walking and Cycling Commissioner. Preventing road deaths doesn't feel like a priority for the Mayor or the PCC any more.

Very sorry to learn that a cyclist was killed in a collision last night in Yardley, Birmingham. If you look on Crashmap's website you'll see in the last 10 years, there've been 100+ collisions within roughly a 50m radius of where he was killed. These streets just aren't safe.

@adamtranter @jordanbhx I mean no offense. I don't doubt at all it was a priority for you. But I'm not sure the political will is there, in birmingham or nationwide, especially in the face of a "war on motorists" narrative pushed by the press.

Very happy to receive this @Ausgang007 demos/rarities CD this morning.
A Birmingham based band by origin and a 16/18 year old Milo was obsessed with them.
They were where me and some of my mates went after punk rock: alternative, forward thinking and a thrilling live band.

Last night was the West Midlands Mayoral hustings. Everyone was there from Andy Street to the Labour man and all the others. I went along and this morning I sat down and wrote it all down.

@jordanbhx I asked a councillor why we can't have this a few years ago. I was told "some old people don't have smart phones". Or words to that effect. Crazy we don't have it in 2024.
