For those of you who don’t know my back story, I was born into a single mother household. To this day, I don’t know who my father was. My bio-mother was an alcoholic and a drug abuser. When I was approximately four years old, she overdosed and died. I spent two days in the house with my dead mom until some neighbors noticed there was a problem and called the police. I was put into foster care and remained there for approximately two years. I was then adopted by an older couple who couldn’t conceive children. I’ll refer to them as Mom and Dad for the rest of this post.
We weren’t rich, actually the low end of middle class, but we had a good solid home, and used, but reliable cars. Dad worked two jobs, mom stayed home and took care of the house. Both had higher education degrees and worked in academia at various times in their lives. Dad taught higher education until he retired. They both wore felt on their sleeves (PhD’s).
Booth have passed away and I do miss them terribly.
I’ve been married and divorced twice. I’m unmarried and will probably choose to remain so, which is probably for the best as the job I do is very demand and takes me away for extended periods of time. I work with a private medical group that deploys to severe viral outbreaks in remote areas. We supplement local efforts and bring resources quickly the outbreak.
