Wow. That's one of the original copies. I can tell by the brown paper cover. I wrote this book in 1975. That in itself is stunning to me.

@kerrymortonmath @KnappMelinda Guess I didn’t speak about student to student. Teacher facilitation will be key on how to have students responding to other students as opposed to responding to teacher in group situations.

@kerrymortonmath @KnappMelinda Possibly more a focus on whole group discussion, with a focus on how to listen and respond. More focus on white board, or other individual ways to put ideas down that can then be shared whole group. Focus on listening to understand would be key.

@nrigelman I enjoyed learning about some new pictures books!

Key messages: Focus on the story --> get pulled into the context --> then connect to the math, that is one strong math connection used to teach a math concept. <3 this!!! rather than the stories written to teach math.

Learning from @SueOConnellMath during #NCTM100. Thank you for sharing the ways that you extend good children's literature to meaningful math learning.
