@AdamWylde @jtbourne Wonder if there’s a deal to be made with Vancouver based on Reilly for Petterson. Both guys need a change of scenery, could see Petterson playing better on a 2C role, and then Tavares gets slotted down to 3C for his last few years - great C depth

A friend of mine always limped from UTG. Everyone laughed at him for using that strategy. For whatever reason, he was printing, even though he wasn’t the best player. Today I know he exploited the pool to the max. Here is why limping can be printing:

Ross Colton makes a lot of sense as an offseason target IMO. He has one year left at $4M . The Avs have a ton of depth up the middle, and Colton played under 10 minutes in the 3 previous games.

@bluejays3333 @tjreidpoker @WSOP So true. Huge player base, just Great Northern at Woodbine can’t get their stuff together to be an organized venue. Look into Pickering casino

I'm excited to announce that I've accepted a position with the @WSOP as their U.S. WSOP Circuit Manager. I'm proud that they've shown a clear commitment to investing in growing the game and improving the player experience at all levels, including the Circuit. Along with the talented team in place, I'll be involved in all things related to the tour: Scheduling, structures, new locations, player experience, and more. An important aspect for me is being a voice and an ear for the players. I'll continue to play on the tour regularly, bring my vlog to venues across the country, and embrace players and operators reaching out to me for anything. I'm thrilled they brought in @jeffplatt as well, and look forward to growing the game alongside him and the rest of the WSOP team. My new life will be heavily focused on the Circuit. That has a nice RING to it. 🔥

@jasonbsu How to accept the emotions that come with facing this?

Can't stand hearing about "entitlement tilt" anymore without saying anything. Here's how it works: 1) You want to win 2) But you don't know if you're going to win 3) Because you don't like that this is the truth (and by the way, this is true for literally every player in the world no matter how successful), you avoid facing it 4) Instead of facing the truth, you say "I'm gonna win" or "I'm gonna do whatever it takes to win," but you don't actually know that 5) When you inevitably lose, you freak out and start punting—not because you were "entitled," but because you didn't accept the emotional experience that comes with having no idea if you're ever going to win again and replaced it with expectation 6) When you freak out, it's just another chance to accept this fact of life, but you don't, and instead you try and study and work and grind your way back to feeling confident that you're gonna win 7) These are not terrible activities on their own, but you use them to once again cover up and not face that you want to win but don't know that you will 8) You lose again, freak out again, and tell everyone you have "entitlement tilt" You don't have entitlement tilt. That's not a thing. You just have never said out loud to yourself that you want to win, but that also you don't know if you're going to win today, tomorrow, or ever again, and then accepted the emotions that come with facing this. If you do? This problem goes away for good.

Most poker players don’t go broke because they’re bad… They go broke because they play the wrong buy-ins. I built a BRM calculator that shows you: ✅ What bankroll you need for any MTT ✅ What stakes you should actually be playing ✅ How much you should sell when shot-taking Reply "Bankroll" and I’ll send it to you for FREE.

I started playing tournaments in 2018, but didn't get serious until 2024 when I finally played more than 100 tournaments. 2025 has been my most serious year with already over 100 tournaments and 156% ROI.

Mentally strong people are just people who quickly realized that they were born alone, made most of their adult decisions alone, got rewarded or punished accordingly alone, fought their most important battles alone, and died alone. You might occasionally be lucky and temporarily get the support of generous people along the way, but you should never feel entitled to it. The day you stop relying on your own agency, the day you stop believing in your own growth, is the day you start becoming anxious and mentally weak. Always assume that you can get better, then have the courage to pay the price to get there.

Great questions! 1) Max late reg feels swingier because you have less control of a short stack, and playing time is shorter. But you're also closer to the money, so you cash more. Plugging in some data into a standard prize pool and measuring directly reveals that max LR has about the same variance as playing from start. But it also comes with a much higher ROI in a vacuum, which means smaller bankroll requirements. 2) I'm not sure about mystery bounties. My gut says yes probably, because you're closer to the money and the bounty pool hasn't degraded yet.

@ChefWriterPoet @jonassiegel Prob Myers on D in the 7th spot, Jarnkrok /Robertson as extras until you find a trade for Robertson (3rd or 4th back). Kampf will clear waivers doubt his 2.4m for next season gets claimed unfortunately. If it does, ok

@jonassiegel If Cowan makes the team, who's the odd man out for the extras? I'm guessing the team goes 14/7/2. Wonder who claims the 7th spot. Thrun, Myers, Mermis, Benning all giving it a good run. Probably or 7-10 order right there, maybe just not in exact order.

In 2007 i was 22 and I busted 1-5 away from$ in Main Event(to Pam Brunson) and ESPN interviewed me right when I busted asking how I felt to come so close and I stared straight at them and asked how they felt making a living capturing heartbreak and tragedy for views and how dare they be emotional vultures waiting around to profit on my pain and I walked off. People know now not to talk to me right after an emotional loss lol, but one thing that’s never changed for me is that I always want it that badly such that it will hurt that badly when I lose and if it doesn’t for you, maybe you just don’t care enough. Dig deeper.

@langfordmh @padspoker No way I'd call. Your chances of winning drops dramatically. AA in that crazy scenario would go right in the muck. Now if it was a regular 1k buy-in tourny for example with re-entries that's an instacall lol.

Btw this whole nonsense about folding AA bvb first hand of the main event is wild. Having 120k early and freedom of blasting/playing loose/taking so many pots that shouldn’t be yours is worth so much ev. Would argue that flipping first hand with 50% equity wouldn’t be that absurd

Alec Torelli | Poker & Decision Making
When I worked with my mental coach back in 2014, he told me he used to coach elite golfers. Him: “How long does a round of golf last?” Me: “4-5 hours I suppose.” Him: “And of that time, how much of it is actually spent golfing? You know, like hitting the ball.” Me: “I guess not that long. Maybe 10-20 minutes at most.” He pointed to his temple. “Well I work with people on what’s going on up here the rest of the time.” Completely changed my game and life. I think about this every time I play poker, but perhaps nowhere is this more true than the Main Event. See a bunch of otherwise good players self eject early making wild plays. Easy to lose your mind in this event. Break down for 10 minutes in 10 days and it’s all over. Have to live inside your head and pull yourself back after every bad beat, brutal river, mistake and lost pot. Purest poker event in the world.
