Today, my office attended the groundbreaking for the Dry Dock 3 renovation at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Led by NAVFAC Atlantic and MEB General Contractors, these upgrades strengthen Hampton Roads shipbuilding and support the world’s most powerful Navy.

This is vile and dangerous. It’s not just Islamophobic rhetoric; it’s a call to expel American citizens & target a specific faith community. We have seen where this kind of dehumanizing language leads before, and we cannot be silent now. America was founded on religious freedom, not hate.

In light of the Islamic center shooting today, I think it’s time to make sure Muslims are safe. The best way to ensure their safety is for our DHS Secretary Markwayne Muslim @SenMullin to deport every Muslim in America back to the Middle East where they can live in fully Islamic societies and blast their call to prayer without triggering Amercians into psychosis as a side effect of having their non-Islamic habitats disrupted by invasive species. Let’s make sure Muslims are safe. Send them back to the Middle East where there’s a mosque on every corner.

I'm proud to celebrate the ceremonial signing of HB1334, Va National Guard Cybersecurity Support Act, into law. As a retired Air Force veteran, IT professional, and cybersecurity professor, it was important to me to bring my military, technology, and cyber experience into legislation that strengthens Virginia. HB1334 ensures the Governor can deploy Virginia National Guard cyber operators to help respond to cyber incidents and assist localities in protecting critical infrastructure and securing networks before attacks happen.

Virginia House Democrats celebrate the Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders who are shaping our Commonwealth. The seven sitting AAPI House Democrats are writing history in real time. Current AAPI House Democrats include the first Chinese American, Sikh, Vietnamese, Korean-American woman, Filipino-American woman, and Asian-American women to serve in the Virginia House of Delegates. Their fight for representation and dedication to Virginians is instrumental to building a better Commonwealth.

Thank you to Black BRAND for hosting this year’s Inside Politics Forum: What’s at Stake, to discuss legislation impacting Virginia’s business community. It was valuable hearing directly from business owners about the challenges they face navigating local and state procurement systems and discussing ways Virginia can continue investing in small business growth.

Today, we celebrated the 419th birthday of the Virginia National Guard! As the tradition goes, the oldest and youngest service members cut the birthday cake using a ceremonial sword. Thanks for all that you do @VaNationalGuard

Happy 419th birthday to Virginia's National Guard!   Today we celebrate the generations of Virginians who have answered the call to serve our Commonwealth and our country.   From responding to natural disasters and emergencies at home to defending our nation abroad, the men and women of the Virginia National Guard continue a proud tradition of service, sacrifice, and leadership.   Thank you for your dedication to Virginia and the United States.

It was such a great feeling when we recently celebrated the ceremonial signing of HB67, the Offshore Wind Workforce Development Act. Thank you to Governor Spanberger, clean energy & our labor partners, environmental advocates, Dominion Energy, NSU, and everyone who helped get this across the finish line.

Thanks to the Princess Anne Plaza Civic League for inviting me out last night to discuss the flooding and resiliency legislation our office has introduced and passed each year since I was elected. It was great to have this discussion at Bow Creek Rec Center, where the Bow Creek Stormwater Project is part of the larger Virginia Beach effort to combat recurrent flooding and protect our neighborhoods for the future.

Virginia is the first state in the South to create a paid family and medical leave program! At the end of the day, Virginia’s greatest economic asset — and we have many — is our people: the workforce that powers growth across our commonwealth. The businesses that thrive here have always known that. What they needed were willing partners in state government who knew it, too. This law is that partnership in action. Paid family and medical leave will make Virginia a stronger place to build a career, grow a family and start a business.

See how this works? Courts immediately clear the way for new maps crafted in backrooms to hurt minority voters but block public referendum in VA to stop disenfranchisement. If our votes don’t matter, why are some working so hard to take ‘em away? apnews.com/article/alabam…

Today at Widewater State Park, Governor Spanberger ceremonially signed HB70 into law. Since I was elected, our office has passed legislation every year focused on recurrent flooding and resiliency. HB70 helps prioritize funding for low-income geographic communities and nature-based solutions and speeds up deployment to communities that need it most. Thank you to all of our environmental partners who helped make this possible.
