@classic_film Johnny Carson
Tom Snyder
Bob Costas
Dick Cavett
Arsenio Hall
I don't know if you would consider "Later with Bob Costas" a talk show or an interview show but I included him. It was a great show until NBC screwed it up.

@TheStingisBack Pure movie watching entertainment. I saw it twice when it was released. It's a conspiracy movie, a detective movie, a chase movie, an action movie, and it all works. Great cast, and that Jerry Goldsmith score sounded awesome in Dolby.
My dad took me to see Capricorn One when I was only 6, and three things burned into my brain:
Jerry Goldsmith’s score, James Brolin eating a raw snake, and Elliot Gould in this manic, scramble to stop a car without brakes. Rewatched years later and appreciated the rest.
@TheStingisBack He may not be the nicest guy to interview, but he is one hell of an actor. No matter what the movie, he's always worth watching. I keep my eyes on him the whole time. Same with George C. Scott.
I like to think that when Ted Turner got to Heaven he was welcomed by all the classic movie stars and directors who wanted to thank him for creating @tcm.
@ATRightMovies This is a downbeat ending. The two guys who the audience loves are slaughtered, and yet, because of the writing, the directing, and certainly the acting by Redford and Newman, it comes off as lighthearted and funny. That's a heck of a trick to pull off, but they did it.
The famous freeze-frame ending of BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID. Director George Roy Hill used an 8x10 still camera instead of a movie camera to capture the close-up, then blended it with a sepia-toned photo to create the final shot.
@TheStingisBack Oh man, Kirk Douglas is so darn funny in this. This may have been his only outright comedy, and he swings for the fences. He looks like he is having a blast.
The Villain AKA Cactus Jack (1979), with Kirk Douglas, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Ann-Margret (85 today), is the closest thing I've ever seen to live-action Looney Tunes cartoon. It even closes with the “That’s All Folks” music.
@ScottMcCreaWest All the Apes movies had a downbeat, heavy ending, but Escape especially. None of this, "Will it upset the kids" stuff when we were going to the movies in the 70s. We were tough. We could handle it.
Spent last night watching Escape from the Planet of the Apes; many consider this to be the best of the Apes sequels (I prefer Beneath), but it is fun in a TV-movie way. Very 70s; more nostalgia now than sci-fi. Eric Braeden and William Windom steal it; Dr. Hasslien is the hero.
@For_Film_Fans It's crazy to look at Faye Dunaway next to William Holden in this picture knowing that two years later they would be starring together in one of the best movies ever made, "Network". She would win the Oscar, he should have. There's actually a few connect the dots here.
@classic_film When I was a wee lad, The Outer Limits came on Sunday afternoons, and not once did I even think about trying to change the channel. Seriously, that voice scared me and I was certain they had control of the TV. That's true. Anyway, I voted Star Trek and The Outer Limits.
Welcome to the Final Four in the #SciFiTVSeries Tournament! The match-ups are Star Trek: TOS vs. Star Trek: TNG and The Outer Limits vs. Quantum Leap.

Voting ends at 10:30 pm EDT. I'll post results throughout the day.
Thank you Ted Turner for giving me @tcm so I can shut out this ugly world and just watch movies. Last night I watched, "Same Time Next Year" and enjoyed every minute of it. Such a good movie.
@iam_jlc I used to like Living Daylights more, but now I dramatically prefer LTK. Better villian, better story, better music (other than theme), better action, better Bond girl, better direction
It's a late 80s action film that hits hard from start to finish
@speederaserhead It's big, it's loud, it's messy, and I love every minute of it. I watch 1941 every December and still cracks me up. Amazing cast (I love Ned Beatty), great score by John Williams, and the USO dance/fight scene is as good as anything Steven Spielberg has done.
@DrPopCultureUSA I have a real problem with that last scene when all the guest stars show up. I wish they had come up with another ending because I think this ending hurts what was a really good western and a great performance by John Wayne.
@jaxbra He seems incredibly bitter. He’s said horrible things about actors who have never had negative stuff said about them. He must be trying to get attention. How awful.
I keep looking at all these photos of Lana Condor and a certain song by The Commodores keeps playing in my head. You know the one I'm talking about, because it certainly applies to that woman.
