Of course, some degree subjects have more relevance to the role than others. But if you acquired the skills via other means, it doesn't matter to us what you studied.

@diggerk @DeepMind This role is quite distinct from a typical data engineering role, and we wanted the name to reflect that. While DE will certainly be part of it, this role is very research-oriented, and more akin to our core research engineering roles (albeit with a particular focus on data).

@millikatie @DeepMind What's the meaning of "research" in the role name? Why not just "data engineer"?
