The Open Claw phenomenon is all about bringing a Factorio-like experience to real life. It’s not about productivity. It’s a fun game.

This is an absolute game changer. Main benefit IMO is as a systems integrator. I have data spread across multiple hospital systems around California. After getting access, ChatGPT logged into these multiple accounts and aggregated a decade of health data in seconds.

It’s insane that Apple happily delivers this via iMessage. Hard to take any other privacy or user-centered posturing seriously.

I love how LLMs give you a rich new language to describe any situation. They map domain-expert terminology onto a topic that can bridge you into connections you never would have seen otherwise. That alone has made them indispensable (even ignoring they can do much more!)

Cool to see new AI-powered shopping interfaces, but something's off with this demo. Very low EQ shopping experience. I can't imagine who would build an entire home library this way.🚩

@connorshepherd What would be different from interacting with chatgpt with voice? You think it will have more context (email/cal/etc access)?

OpenAI will likely ship a voice-enabled general assistant on Monday, but my guess is that it will be challenging to get good results out of it. I think for the next few years, classical code will be needed for each discrete domain of assistance (email, research, calendar etc)

In all this AI excitement it seems like the only durable asset being created is audience and mindshare. Most of the skills and products have an incredibly short half life/no real moat.

I think the net effect of businesses offering AI products in their current incarnation will mainly come in the form of reduced margins. Most value will accrue to the users and it will be tough for a while to make money. connor-shepherd.ghost.io/ai-is-a-margin…
