Mormons are often very personally offended when Christians say that Mormonism isn’t Christian. This is dumb. Joseph Smith’s first “encounter” with God involves God telling Smith that every creed Christians profess is an abomination to God. Every creed. That includes the Nicene Creed. They reject who God is, who Jesus is, the nature of salvation, the nature of exaltation, the clear teaching of Scripture, etc.. Mormonism rejects the very core of the Christian faith in all its essentials. Joseph Smith knew this but nowadays they are playing mind games with their own people and with real Christians. Either THEY are Christians or WE are. It’s one or the other. Not both. When asked “Will all be damned but Mormons?” Smith replied, “Yes, and a great portion of them unless they repent and work righteousness” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 119) The Doctrine and Covenants (1:30) leaves no doubt to the Mormon teaching of exclusivity when it says the LDS Church is “the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well pleased ….” Brigham Young, second only to Joseph Smith in Mormonism said… “Should you ask why we differ from other Christians, as they are called, it is simply because they are not Christians as the New Testament defines Christianity” (Journal of Discourses 10:230). “The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God” (Journal of Discourses 8:171). I could easily give you pages of them saying they are the only true Christians and how we are all ignorant beasts and our doctrines are wrong. They knew at the time they had a different God, gospel, Scripture, and system of belief. But now it has become expedient to pretend otherwise while still preaching all those false and unchristian things. Mormons, your leaders are gaslighting you and you are gaslighting us. You aren’t Christian but we want you to be. Flee from Mormonism. Flee from Joseph Smith.

On May 15, 1829, John the Baptist appeared to Joseph Smith, Jr. and Oliver Cowdery and restored the Aaronic Priesthood. “Upon you my fellow servants, in the name of Messiah I confer the Priesthood of Aaron, which holds the keys of the ministering of angels, and of the gospel of repentance, and of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; and this shall never be taken again from the earth, until the sons of Levi do offer again an offering unto the Lord in righteousness.”

@RangerZero37962 It's not on us to recruit you. We have to point out error and it's up to the Holy Spirit to renew the heart. Mormon missionaries believe this very thing too, right? If there is someone who doesn't know the truth, the truth must be told to them.

@mistaj12 You don't have to agree with our theology, but insulting it does not make us want to join your church.

This is getting sad. Here's a tip from the church that had around 400,000 converts last year: denigrating somebody's sincerely held religious beliefs is a horrible way to convert them. Insulting them is much more likely to make them dig in their heels.

@IdleGlands The book of Hebrews says the priesthood was replaced with a better, more perfect priesthood when Christ finished his work on the cross. Is that another abomination teaching that needed to be corrected with Joseph's new priesthood?

This is simply not true. Mormons consider anyone that believes in and follows christ a Christian.

With all due respect, how do you know that never happened? Is your answer “because it’s not written in the Bible compiled in the old world long after Christ’s acension”? If so, that’s simply where we divert. The old world had no idea He did this, even though He left them a clue as we read in John 10:16.

Mormons are flooding X with pictures of "Jesus" and saying, "We believe in Jesus," and "The name JESUS CHRIST is in our Church! We're Christians." But their guy, also named Jesus, came to America and started Christianity here after the resurrection among Jews who sailed to America on boats in 600 BC. - Since that never happened, Mormon Jesus is a different Jesus.

@2Sticks1Nation @FiredUpCoug No. We read the Bible. The first heaven is the sky(Genesis 1), the second heaven is space (Genesis 1) and stars, and the third heaven is what we know as heaven (2 Corinthians). Paul saw heaven but wasn't allowed to speak about the details.

Why do Latter Day Saints know more about heaven than other Christians? Because the LDS have 3 degrees in Heaven.

@Mormonger @conservmillen Joseph Smith morphed his theology over time, much like Mohammed did with Islam. He began with something similar to what he knew about Christianity but by the end of his life his teachings disagreed not only with the Bible but also with his own earlier teachings.

I believe the gospel. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I repent of my sins. I am his covenant disciple. I am a Christian.

@ThoughtfulSaint You have the wrong Christ, buddy. Your Christ is false and cannot save. The true Jesus Christ is the uncreated creator and eternal savior. He wasn't born from a heavenly mother before the world was created. He isn't the brother of Lucifer. He was born in Bethlehem not Jerusalem.

@BasedMikeLee The government has no authority over who is a Christian anyway. If you want to be a Christian I suggest you go to the real authority: God. His scriptures tell us everything we need to know. There is no new gospel. Scripture says the gospel was once and for all delivered.

@RadioactiveIM3 Do you hate the people you're trying to convert simply because you feel they are in error and need salvation? I can't speak for all of your critics but I don't hate Mormons. I want them to be saved from deception and follow the true Christ.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If you have hatred for my church and what I believe, please stay away from me. I cannot be moved. I have given more in the name of standing for my beliefs than you can imagine. Hateful Words are empty vessels. The church is true. The Book of Mormon is true. Dallin Harris Oaks is a living prophet. I am not here to be popular. If you have questions, ask. I have a few friends here who share my beliefs, many of whom can answer your questions better than I can. But if you ask, accept our answers rather than lore of the internet. I am a Christian, a Disciple of Christ, a daughter of God.
