@amgregg907 @thatlawyerLisa Pretty amazing. How did you motivate yourself to get through the hard times and harder work when you were at the bottom and everything sucked and presumably felt hopeless?

Ten years ago I went to prison after a decade of struggling with addiction and its consequences. I spent five years inside Oregon prisons focused on being a better person and finding opportunities to help others by working as a GED tutor, a wildland firefighter, and a legal clerk. After my release, I uncovered misconduct that proved my sentence was the result of a wrongful conviction, leading to my charges being vacated and dismissed. That happened because I actively participated in my recovery and became deeply dedicated to understanding our legal system. On Saturday, I graduated magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School, in the top 5% of my class. After the bar exam, I will begin a clerkship at the Oregon Court of Appeals. The life I have today is the result of pursuing what felt like an impossible dream ten years ago. Second chances have the power to transform lives. Today, I believe it is my duty to bring light to dark places and to try to encourage others to believe in themselves. The future is brighter than I could have ever imagined and I cannot wait to face what comes next.

Around August of 2024, I was sitting in my truck before work feeling completely disconnected from myself. I’ve always been a creative person. The kind of person who notices typography on old packaging, lighting in hotel lobbies, the shape of a chair in the corner of a photograph. But my day job was long hours, physical work, and survival mode. Work I was grateful for, but by the end of most days, there was nothing left creatively. So I made a small decision that ended up changing my life. I started posting things I genuinely loved on X. Vintage advertising. Old electronics. Architecture. Interiors. Strange little pieces of design history that made me feel something. No business plan. No content calendar. No growth strategy. Just 3–4 posts a day, every single day. Most people don’t realize this, but in the beginning I barely followed anyone, rarely networked, and honestly had no idea what I was doing. I was working full time and raising three kids. I simply didn’t have the extra hours. What I did have was taste, curiosity, and consistency. And eventually, people found Lusso. I think a lot of people are waiting for permission before they start creating. They want the perfect niche, the perfect setup, the perfect audience waiting on the other side. But the truth is that momentum comes after you begin. If there’s something you love deeply, put it into the world. Even if it feels small. Even if nobody notices at first. The people who connect with it will eventually find you, and when they do, it changes something in you too. To everyone who’s followed the Lusso journey, thank you sincerely for the support. It means more than you know.

@Deshacersele @AuronMacintyre Crude but true. Abortion access via Roe is likeky a major cause of 90s-00s crime reduction in NYC. And unleaded gas. Runny Rudy didn't do s#it, but it's great how he has taken credit for what abortion accomplished.

The brutal truth is that our entire system relies on abortion You can’t keep women in the work force without abortion You can’t maintain the casual sex culture and disrupt family formation without abortion Women with children find themselves dependent on men, single women find themselves dependent on the state Women are more likely to take abuse from employers, less likely to demand raises, less likely to oppose their replacement People have been conditioned to believe they couldn’t function in society without abortion, and at some level we’ve ensured that’s correct We’re far from the first civilization to base itself on child sacrifice but don’t lie to yourself, that’s exactly what we’ve done You can look back on the Mayans in horror because they did their sacrifices on an altar but they could never hope to match our level of slaughter Until the paradigm shifts there will be no popular support for it’s restriction
Cernovich@Cernovich

Abortion has never been more normalized or popular. The pro-life movement, if their goal is to save lives rather than pay themselves $400,000 a year to go on podcasts, should ask why they keep losing at the state level, rather than agitate against Trump.

@CovfefeAnon @iHypercube It's partially how it's worded plus blue has the potential outcome of "everyone survives" spelled out and it only requires 50% of people to band together. Red sounds selfish, plus expects and asks too much of everybody (even kids, idiots, etc.) to all "get it" + think & act alike

This twitter classic "red button / blue button" [everyone who picks blue dies unless more than 50% do; everyone who picks red lives] question is cursed but we've learned a lot about people since it went around on the timeline the last time First to get this out of the way - there is zero actual reason to push blue - none - there is no "payoff to cooperation" being modeled since the payoff on offer - not dying - is the same for both choices. The only rational reason to pick blue is that you *hope* less than 50% of people pick blue so you can end your life and escape the person who is putting you in contrived hypotheticals for his own amusement With that out of the way - what we've learned in the 2 years since this hit the timeline the first time is that many, many people are simply next token predictors and when they see this example they say they will pick the "cooperative" choice (which isn't actually that!) We have also learned that when confronted with the stupidity of this position, they will simply costlessly double down and "argue" about it forever rather than admit error Really, the question is extremely revealing

@GentlmanBronco8 @TheOmniLiberal Yeah should be a way to eliminate the entire massive industry burrowed like a tick between healthcare payer and healthcare provider, just suckin out profits with power to admin and lobby. Replace entire industry with an algorithm that maximizes health and minimizes cost.

@TheOmniLiberal The issue is US spends more on healthcare for worse outcomes & our insurance “marketplace” is just 1 example of its excesses - how we have commodified our lives & health for others to enrich off of by denying claims. No it’s not cold blooded murder but it’s not that far off.

Insurance companies are required to pay out claims, they can't keep more than 20% of all premiums, if they don't pay out enough claims then the rest is reimbursed to people who are insured. No one on the far left has literally any idea how insurance markets or healthcare or anything in the US works, it's just endless virtue signalling to rile people up to get some momentary popularity for their unelectable candidates while Republicans are busy destroying the country.

It’s better to be single than it is to be in a long term relationship with no kids I’d rather be by myself than with a woman 24/7. The kids are what makes the sacrifice of solitude and freedom worth it “guys” like this are sus, they’re literally just hanging out with a girl everyday, and possibly even enjoying it It’s better to be alone with no responsibility and limitless opportunity

"sleep training" a newborn means letting a defenseless baby scream for its mother in the dark until it's either exhausted or has given up on life. the attachment literature is clear that before 6 months, a baby crying with nobody coming learns exactly one thing, that calling for help doesn't work and you even have parents bragging about how they tortured their kid into an 8h sleep you need to attend to every need of your child. they don't have a prefrontal cortex able to understand what's happening. if you love them and care for them, they'll barely cry, and when they do there's a clear reason you can address right away

@SandyofCthulhu Plus, $1M lump probably has a lot more taxes lost than $52k/yr. So likely take a lot less than 20 years to match, without having to bother with investing (or paying someone to invest for you) which is the main reason why lump sums are generally better

She knows herself. Look, if I gave my 9yo grandkid $120 it would all be gone in a couple of weeks, and she'd be begging stingy old miser grandpa for more. If, instead, I give her $10 about once a month, I'm the awesome grandpa who hands out gifts periodically. The government knows this too, which is why they dole out their benefits over time.

I have never understood, and still do not understand, why people loathe Jordan Peterson. For me, he is the most compelling philosopher of the 21st century. His ideas have reshaped how the modern man, particularly in the West, sees himself. And this is not even limited to the West. Any sensible young man can recognize the value in his thinking; lessons that, if practiced as he presents them, have the power to turn one’s life around.

Not immigrants. Not drag queens. Not Muslims. Not Mexicans. Two white church going Christians, one a police officer, have been arrested on dozens of counts of raping a child they met at their church. Plymouth, MA Police Officer Samantha Pelrine, 31, and her husband, Daniel Forand, 37, began raping a 12-year-old boy back in 2019, just a year after they assumed legal guardianship over him. They finally got caught in 2026. Moreover, Samantha Pelrine was a cop for the last 5 years, and no one in her department suspect her of being a child rapist and pedophile. Imagine the questions that would have been asked if these weren't two white church going "Christians," but if they were any other demographic? For example. •How did their church and faith leaders influence him? •How much did their political leanings distort their world view? •Did growing up in a white community affect their mental health in negative ways? But no one will ask these questions, because these are only reserved for Black and brown people. Meanwhile the rates of domestic violence and sexual abuse among the law enforcement vocation are epidemic. Former NFL player Tim Tebow also notes that the vast majority of child sexual abusers are white. As he documents, according to a 2023 report from the United States Sentencing Commission regarding Child Sexual Abuse Material distributors and possessors, 77.1% were White, 12.8% were Hispanic, 5.8% were Black, and 4.3% other. But Trump, Vance, and the MAGA cult won't ask any of these questions. They'll just brush it off and ignore it, and pretend the "real" problems are already marginalized communities. Is it any wonder that MAGA politicians continue to turn a blind eye to the Epstein Files and the systemic abuse of children in those files? Reject this narrative. Reject the culture wars. Recognize these atrocities for what they are. Demand justice. --- Writing more on these injustices on my human rights platform. Subscribe at qasimrashid.com/subscribe

Very surprised it has taken Iran ~10 days to begin minelaying operations in the Strait of Hormuz. Suggests Iranian C2 has further regenerated or that efforts to use mining the Strait as leverage in ceasefire overtures have been abandoned.

Consciousness is not thinking but the feeling of thinking. So, unless neural nets can somehow jump from producing cognition to producing sensation (a huge leap), more data and compute will make a smarter zombie, but will never give it a ghost.
