Sir Jim Ratcliffe has this week said that the UK is being 'colonised' by immigrants. These comments are divisive and wrong And when I hear stuff like this I always wonder whether it applies to people like me

Until we have widespread historical consensus about what Britain was, we cannot have a meaningful discussion about what it now is, and how we move forward as a country

And you can't have a version of history that goes: World War II, World War I, skip a few, Shakespeare & Henry VIII
