Black Friday shopping means lots of delivery packaging, and we know it can feel overwhelming. To help you stay prepared, we’ve captured some common flexible plastics you might see. Learn more about common delivery packaging you can recycle: recyclebc.ca/common-packagi…
Flexible plastics—like bags, wraps, and pouches—are handled differently than rigid containers. Try the scrunch test: if it doesn’t hold its shape, it’s flexible. Ensure items are empty and rinsed. See the flexible plastics guide and where to take them at RecycleBC.ca.
@zedtweetz@PineCentre@RecycleBC Hi Zoë - Recycle BC is a program for residential packaging and paper recycling. Commercial buildings are responsible for their own recycling management and would have private contracts with collection services. recyclebc.ca/about-recycleb…
This also doesn’t make sense, at @PineCentre Mall. Plastics are recyclable. Coffee cups are recyclable. I hope you connect with @RecycleBC@multimaterialbc soon!
@multimaterialbc@cityofcoquitlam@GFLenv Hi, I can't dm u as there is no option to. This was handled by a supervisor at @GFLenv and he never came by as he said he would or ever followed back up with me. Situation was never resolved.
@GFLenv do u no longer take cardboard on curbside recycle?Driver doesn't collect it.Also, the driver has verbally assaulted 2 woman, damaged cars and now threw sharp metal in my driveway, I assume to damage cars. Supervisor never called me back @cityofcoquitlam@multimaterialbc

@multimaterialbc Yes, thanks I understand the process. You say will be collected but it is being collected & you didn't mention where it's all being stored. Must be massive amounts.
There must be some outcomes by now as to how much is being recycled & how much isn't? Is there a report on it?
.@multimaterialbc Am curious how the "Other Flexible Plastic Packaging" pilot project is going in BC? It's been months now. Also curious as to where the massive amounts of this otherwise non-recyclable plastic is stored? Read your website but didn't address my questions. Thanks.
@Smithrite@multimaterialbc 3 weeks in a row Smithrite has failed to pickup recycling on my East Van street. City pickup has been just fine. Recycling has been picked up only 2 out of the last 6 weeks ... what's up?!
@Pocogirl63@GlobalBC Of all the packaging and printed paper supplied to BC residents, 78% is collected for recycling and plastic, metal and glass are recycled in BC or North America. Our policies ensure we continue to recycle our materials with changing global conditions and keep them out of landfill
