@KyleneBeers Those of us who have read your books know better than to believe that claim. I look forward to reading it.

A person just posted that Ts should "beware" of reading my newest book because she "heard" it is not research-based. When another asked if she had read the book, the poster said no but she wanted to let people know there is no research in it. That's a lie and I am stunned.

@DanielleBeave20 You haven't done anything wrong. I honestly think people are tired of seeing them. People have been sharing their lists all year.

@mremrich1 This is what happens in my child's district. There are no AP classes. They do what is called College Credit Plus. They can stay at the school for the classes or go to the college and get them face to face. My son graduated hs with 62 college credits.

As a middle school teacher with no experience teaching AP, I can't help but wonder: Should school districts consider partnering with colleges to offer courses in high schools providing students with an opportunity to earn college credit without the added pressure of AP tests?
Trevor Packer@AP_Trevor

The 2023 AP US Government and Politics scores: 5: 13%; 4: 11%; 3: 25%; 2: 24%; 1: 27%. These scores and the required points are consistent over the past decade. I wish colleges were less stringent in the points they require for 3s/4s/5s in this subject!

Teachers, You are my tribe, I love you all. Lately, I have had to change my posts because I am getting bombarded with list drops (without permission) or I am being tagged with demands to RT or follow to get more visibility. #clearthelist #clearthelist2023 #edutwitter

Ok, form an orderly queue: if you could only give new parents ONE piece of practical advice - practical! no live laugh love crap - on caring for a newborn, what would it be?

@flyingmonkey13 I have, thank you. It has taken a lot of reflection and acknowledging successes that others may not outright see.

@GiftedTawk I can say that it's a really bad idea for those of us who blindly reach for their chapstick but also carry glue sticks.

What was your student teaching experience like? Do you still reference the experience? Has it had any sort of impact on your teaching style? I had a very positive experience, and I am curious about what others have experienced.

@SustainTeaching I often provide a selection of choices, such as writing topics or final project format. However, with reading choice, it's all on them. I will give recommendations if they ask.

A kind reminder: voice and choice does not mean letting kids do whatever they want in our classrooms. Instead, voice and choice must be scaffolded, just like anything else in our classrooms. How do you scaffold voice and choice in your classroom?

A pre-service teacher just asked me the most excellent question, so I will ask it to you. "In your experience, what has helped you most in building good relationships with students? If you could converge it to just one specific thing?"
