@the_duriel The Godot C++ codebase uses "p_" prefix for all function parameters, I guess it stands for "parameter"

@the_duriel @leonardmeagher2 The problem is that no language that I know of forces explicit self. At least I can't find any off the top of my head. So all languages enable "shadowing" for the sake of briefty (ommiting self)

@the_duriel @leonardmeagher2 Well IMO shadowing is an issue caused by allowing implicit self (this is true for all languages). So actually if you always use self, shadowing itself is mostly gone (at least for local variables shadowing class properties).

@the_duriel @leonardmeagher2 I thought this was debunked already, I looked at the GDScript compiler source code and it's actually the opposite, if you don't add self it will be added as the "base" of the instruction for you anyway so it doesn't matter if you add it or not

@leonardmeagher2 self is bad because it's not just syntax sugar. Also it's pretty obvious what you're setting.

📣 This solo developer who currently works at Pixar as a Technical Director is building a VR rhythm game called Sock Puppet Superstar for Quest as an indie project, and over the last week he has been going viral on TikTok!
🤖Features/Tech:
- Using Unity, OpenXR, hand tracking, and a custom voice synthesizer built in FMOD
- Raise and lower your puppet to control the pitch
- Works with hand tracking or controllers
- Customize your sock puppet with colors, fabrics, accessories, and voices
