This still blows my mind. I was peacefully standing outside the Capitol on January 6 ,doing nothing wrong, no violence, just there as a patriot exercising my rights. Yet the Sedition Hunters had clear photos of me in their database, posted on their website as part of their propaganda campaign against J6 attendees. How exactly did they get pictures specifically of me in the crowd? I wasn’t livestreaming. I wasn’t posing for media. Why was my face captured and cataloged so early? Were these groups systematically photographing everyone in the crowd that day to build a massive surveillance database for the FBI? Or was I already being targeted by the government before I even realized it? We now know the Sedition Hunters worked hand-in-glove with the FBI feeding them tips, composites, and identifications from public footage and their own sleuthing. It raises serious questions about pre-planned monitoring of American citizens who simply showed up to protest a stolen election. This wasn’t justice. Thank you for saying it “has forever changed my view of our Government. Trust in our national institutions is something I will never have again.” I feel the same way. After practicing law for a quarter century, helping DOJ prosecute mobbed up labor union bosses and embezzlers while at DOL and authoring language codified in the CFR, working on the Hill for decade including my favorite job as Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Republicans (where I got to huddle with AG Holder’s aides to discuss my language that was codified in Title 18, and participate in vetting DOJ’s presidential appointees and Article III judges in the Bush 43-Obama era), my eyes have now been opened to reality. The most dangerous, deceitful, and corrupt people in society are the DOJ’s LEOs and AUSAs, and the federal judiciary is not an independent arbiter or guardian of the Constitution. I wish I could cause prototypical “law and order” conservative Republicans to understand: LEOs are just bureaucrats with badges; prosecutors are just bureaucrats with law licenses; and judges are just bureaucrats who wear robes. NONE of them is more likely to be more scrupulous, diligent, and apolitical than ANY other government employee. I’ve told my children, don’t do anything your father did. Meaning don’t go into the military, don’t go to law school, don’t go into the Civil Service, and don’t go into politics (not even as a donor or volunteer!) unless you’re a liberal Democrat. Everything I was taught in the 70s, 80s, and 90s by every institution (academia including the legal academy, news media, government authorities, military commanders, parents and grandparents, et cetera) concerning a functioning criminal law enforcement system is no longer true or has proven to be a lie. We do not live in a nation of laws. We live in a nation of men, and the only law is the law of the jungle. The U.S. is already indistinguishable from the Soviet Union and third world banana republics, except the masses don’t yet know it. If I were a law professor or an instructor at Quantico or FLETC, I would tell my students to read Orwell’s 1984 book and watch the movie Idiocracy, and understand those works of art have proven to be prescient documentaries.

Jack Smith's special counsel investigation cost taxpayers at least $50 million. That does not include what the Biden DOJ spent on investigating the president and his associates BEFORE Smith was appointed in November 2022. Safe to assume at least that amount if not more. We will never know how much the Biden DOJ/Wray FBI spent on the four-year pursuit of J6ers. All 56 FBI field offices were involved; assistant US attorneys were dispatched (some volunteered) to Washington to assist the DC US Attorney prosecute more than 1,000 J6ers in the most Democratic city in the nation. The DOJ budget ballooned under Biden administration; budget proposals noted extra money needed to hire temporary asst. US attorneys to handle J6 prosecutions. How much did taxpayers pay for FBI agents to investigate alleged trespassers? Interrogate neighbors, co-workers, former friends, even family members? How much did each armed raid cost? How much did each trial cost? Matthew Graves put more than 130 J6ers on trial where the government had at least 3-4 prosecutors (more in high profile trials) assigned to each trial. How much did taxpayers pay for public defenders since few J6ers could afford to hire defense attorneys not to mention the fact few defense attorneys dared to take on J6 cases. How many DC judges added clerks, staff to handle the enormous caseload, which clogged the docket each day? (I often wondered what these judges would have been doing without J6 cases.) How much did it cost taxpayers to incarcerate hundreds of J6ers--most of whom pleaded guilty or were convicted at trial on misdemeanors? And I once again note the DC chief judge commented early on that the sort of misdemeanors brought against J6ers were never handled in federal court. How much did taxpayers pay to fund the DC gulag? We know the Jan 6 committee spent at least $30 million in tax dollars to produce made-for-TV performances aired prime time across the country. My guess is that figure is actually much higher. What about the other Congressional investigations conducted by Congress into the events of Jan 6 and the president? And the involvement of the Biden intelligence community in both J6 and Trump investigations. It would be ideal for anyone in Congress or the DOJ or the Trump administration to come up with a ballpark figure for the total cost to taxpayers for the "unprecedented" (Merrick Garland's words) investigation and prosecution into a four-hour protest on public property on a Wednesday afternoon. So spare me the outrage over the AG's weaponization fund.

Oversight from Congressional Republicans is needed and welcome. And FBI agent Eric Burns and AUSA Benjamin Taibleson are STILL on the DOJ payroll in Milwaukee, even though they’re the lawfare scum who wrongfully convicted Trump fundraiser @realMAGAmartyr (in the “Missing Disclaimer=Fraud Hoax”). It’s no mystery why Taibleson was hand-picked for his “get Trump and his associates” mission during the Biden-Garland-Wray regime. Taibleson is the only AUSA in the nation who donated money to the campaigns of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, clerked for Merrick Garland, served as Special Counsel to Chris Wray, and was recommended to Biden by Tammy Baldwin. It is a mystery why Trump’s political appointees at DOJ still allow Taibleson to speak for, and make decisions for, the nation’s Chief Law Enforcement Officer, President Trump, in federal court. Last month, Taibleson was invited to decide whether to vacate my wrongful conviction or keep me in federal custody. Predictably, he covered his tracks by deciding the Trump DOJ will double down on everything Biden DOJ PIN Chief Corey Amundson got away with. I’m glad Colorado’s Democrat Governor is finally releasing Tina Peters. She’ll be a free woman before I’m a free man. I wish the Trump Administration would finally release me.
