It's been over a year since my mother came to stay with us after my wife gave birth. We live in just one small room, so when the baby arrived, my mom and younger sister came from the village to help us with the child and house work. At first, it was supposed to be temporary, but they decided to remain in town for some time. Now one full year has passed. Me, my wife and our baby sleep on the bed together, while my mother and sister sleep on a mattress on the floor in the same room. For many nights, I’ve tried getting close to my wife like normal married couples do, but every single time she pushes my hand away. She says she feels uncomfortable because my mother and sister are inside the room and she is scared they may hear us. I begged her many times. I even told her she doesn’t need to make any noise. I later spoke to my mother about it, and she was shocked that my wife would deny me simply cuz of them. My mother said she is an adult and it doesn’t bother her at all. Even my younger sister laughed and said married people being together is something normal, so she doesn’t see any problem with it. And she'll distract herself with earphones I went back and explained everything to my wife, hoping things would change, but that same night she still turned her back on me again. Now my heart is heavy because I’m starting to feel like she simply wants my family out of the house. This woman is my only family after losing my father. My mother suffered alone to raise me and my sister. So how can I suddenly tell them to leave when they are not yet ready? Should I force them out? In one whole year, me and my wife have only been together 3 times inside that room. Every other time we had to look for somewhere else. Honestly, this situation is hurting me deeply and bringing problems into my marriage.

My younger brother dropped out of school. No degree at all, he had no plan or a clear direction. My parents were so disappointed. Relatives talked about him like he already failed in life. Meanwhile, I did everything right. I stayed in school, I graduated and also got a stable job. I followed the path everyone said would guarantee success. Fast forward to a few years….
