@pauldauenhauer @GovTimWalz State support is currently 17% of UMN's operating budget, which as far as I can tell is the lowest percentage ever. Apparently back in the 90s it was nearly 40%, and even higher many decades ago. A small increase in funding could lower tuition and increase salaries significantly
