@femigbaja The aura at the start of this speech could almost completely soothe all the troubles of the day, and the previous days. But alas, he would never come out for that purpose. A whole night ruined. Politicians are a disappointment.

I cried my eyes out last night. Honestly, if I had known marriage would feel like this, I might never have agreed to it. I’m currently six months pregnant with our first child, and it feels like my husband is making things even harder for me. He gave me ₦400k for baby items, but everything on my list is over ₦2 million just basic necessities. I know he’s trying his best, but the money isn’t enough, and I’m feeling overwhelmed. I genuinely don’t know where to start or what to do next. I really need sincere advice.

@TobiOdukoyaFilm @Dr_statesman I'm sure it was just a communication gap. The 64K you were asked to pay wasn't for interpretation of results. It was for "follow-up" consultation. If it's to interpret results, any of the MOs could do that. Not a big deal.

I went to this hospital at Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja Lagos I wanted to see the gynecologist. I paid for registration, 23,766 Paid for consultation, 119,000 Paid for tests close to 350k (it was about three hundred and forty something) Minus my T.fare o Now after close to a month, my results are ready. Oya o, tell me what the tests says. NO, I HAVE TO PAY 64,000 FIRST before the gynecologist can interpret what my tests says. I almost lost it with them! They said it's the policy. And frankly i don't have 64k to pay for tests interpretation. I told them to send the results to my mail. I'm so heartbroken and disappointed.

@ComfortLolaa @Noela_ik Avoid doing this to your own child. Even an adult would get traumatised by those videos. Parenting requires thoughts, not impulse. This is the most important task you'd ever undertake, don't let the street raise your child...

How do I stop a child from stealing? She’s just 6 years old, but she steals like an expert, covers her tracks perfectly, and denies it with teary eyes so much that you start to feel bad for her and even second-guess yourself as an adult.

@dhareymu @YusufAsunmogejo It clearly says not to ask a QUESTION YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO. The scenario you mention suggests that you do not know the answer to the question. So, you will ask to clarifyxv in order not to wrongly accuse a child. And that too has methods.

@YusufAsunmogejo @YusufAsunmogejo My question in regards to this paragraph, what if the child actually didn't do it? Let say a money was missing and the person who took it wasn't the child but we didn't ask, instead we mentioned it to them, wouldn't that make them bad for being accused?

Hello Lola, I am a Muslim, and our spiritual tradition has a very deep approach to raising children. I want to share some tips from our scholars that will be beneficial to you regardless of your faith. First of all, our theology teaches the concept of Fitrah. This means that every child is born with a pure heart. At six years old, she is not a criminal mastermind. She does not have a wicked soul. If she doesn’t have all these, then what is happening? The truth is that she is just lacking impulse control and testing boundaries. By this, if you look at her as a manipulator, you will fight her. However, if you look at her as a pure soul making mistakes, you will be able to guide her. Secondly, for every problem anyone faces today, it has been solved in history. The only problem is how to locate them. A classical scholar named Al-Ghazali wrote about child psychology over 900 years ago in his famous book “Ihya Ulum al-Din.” In his section on disciplining children, he gave a practical rule I want you to adopt going forward. He advised that parents should never push a child into a corner where they are forced to lie. When you ask a question you already know the answer to, her survival instinct kicks in. She cries and she lies to defend herself because she is scared of you. Stop interrogating her. Just look at her and state the fact. Say, I know you took this, and we are going to return it right now. Again, another scholar and sociologist Ibn Khaldun addressed this exact behavior in his masterpiece titled: “Al-Muqaddimah.” He warned that when a child is raised with harsh punishment, they learn deceit, trickery, and lying to protect themselves. This is why she is covering her tracks and crying to manipulate you. The fear of a harsh reaction is making her a better liar. Lola, do not attach a label to her. Do not ever call her a thief. If you attack her identity instead of her action, she will internalize it and grow into that dark label. Tell her the action is wrong but protect her dignity. Make her return the item. Do not fall for the tears. Hold her hand, walk her back to wherever she took it from, and make her hand it back and apologize. The discomfort of returning a stolen item teaches a much better lesson than beating her will ever do. Finally, I don’t know if you are a Muslim, but never underestimate the power of your own words. In our faith, we believe the prayer of a parent for a child goes straight to God without any barrier. Pray over her. Pray for her heart to be content and for her character to be straight. Keep doing this consistently and the habit will break. Allah knows best.

From their less than 200k per month, they must pursue PhD

This is not correct. The Professors supervising your research have to be paid. Some are invited from other universities and need to be paid. You are also taught things like Research Methods in your first year and may even have to take exams. It is not true that PhDs everywhere except Nigeria is free. It is mostly only free in Europe. Even there, you are likely to be required to work as a teaching assistant or do some administrative work in the faculty for the stipend that you get. In the UK and the USA, you’ll pay. In the USA, the first two years are mostly taught and you may have to take exams too.
Alex Onyia@winexviv

I still don’t understand something. Why are PhD students in Nigeria paying school fees? PhD is not school in the normal sense. It’s research work. You’re producing knowledge. You’re teaching undergrads. You’re publishing papers. You’re raising the university’s ranking. In every sane system: – PhD students are funded – Their tuition is covered – They are paid stipends for research and teaching In Nigeria? We treat the highest level of knowledge production like a burden instead of an investment. You can’t starve research and expect innovation. Education in Nigeria is just upside down.

@temmyt007_ @Sunny683704 @OlayinkaRajiT @DrJoeAbah Why wouldn't you find a means of living with your degree and masters first? Stabilise and then pursue PhD. How are you earning less than 200K a month and your brain is telling you that PhD would solve your problem?

I don't want your forgiveness. The fact that I am a doctor does not make me an automatic LGBTQ ally. I will never be an LGBTQ ally. This doesn't mean I will treat my LGBTQ patients differently from my other patients. Imagine thinking because I don't support smokers or alcoholics means I will treat them with disdain when they present to the hospital. That's dumb. Life doesn't start and end with japa. If any country won't welcome me into their nation because I am not an ally of LGBTQ then they equally don't deserve my service. Their loss, not mine. I will make it and remain happy wherever I find myself. I also unfollowed you that day by the way. Aura for aura

A corps member newly posted to Ibadan was relocating from Osogbo with his belongings when he was stopped around Iwo Road/Apata axis. What started as a routine stop quickly turned into intimidation. His NYSC ID was seized, he was profiled based on his dressing and phone wallpaper, and he was threatened with being taken to the station. In fear, he was extorted ₦90,000 after an initial demand of ₦350,000. Hon. Jesugbemi immediately reached out to the Police PPRO. CSP Adewale Osifeso listened, requested details, acted swiftly, ensured the extorted money was refunded, and made sure the officers involved were disciplined. This was the standard he set. This was the difference he made.

Some people serve so quietly that you only realize their impact when they are gone. The transfer of CSP Adewale Osifeso from Oyo State has left a silence that words can barely explain. Not because of noise, but because of the calm reassurance his presence brought to many, especially the youths. CSP Osifeso was not just the Police Public Relations Officer. He was a human being first. He listened when voices shook with fear. He responded when messages were ignored elsewhere. He acted when justice seemed delayed or impossible. For countless young people in Oyo State, he became a symbol of hope that the system could still work for the people. He opened his doors, his phone lines, and his heart to the youth. He never dismissed concerns as “small issues.” He sought solutions, followed up on cases, and ensured that people were heard with dignity and respect. In moments of pain, confusion, and frustration, he showed empathy and calm leadership. Many of the good he did will never make the news. Many lives were changed quietly. Many situations were resolved without noise. Trust was rebuilt, one conversation at a time, because he chose to serve beyond his title. Yet today, as he leaves Oyo State, there has been little celebration for a man who gave so much. That silence should not define his legacy. CSP Adewale Osifeso deserves to be celebrated. He deserves to be thanked. He deserves to be remembered for showing us that policing can be compassionate, responsive, and people focused. Thank you for standing with the youth of Oyo State. Thank you for choosing service over comfort and empathy over indifference. I want you to know that the seeds you have planted here will continue to grow sir. Oyo State will not forget you. 🥹❤️

@PinPoin19502075 @IdrisAOni1 @Row_Haastrup Maybe you'll learn from this: What you see in the video is part of Christmas culture in Egypt. After the season is over, people are allowed to go and take down the tree, adornment, etc, such as this. That's what you see here. And it's part of the celebration. Hope that helps...

@grok @kitty_bit_games @KatieMiller Can you expand on this in the context of " modern-day feminism"? Isn't this version of feminism a complete mockery of feminist agitation? A complete turn from the true tenet-A breeding ground for hateful women and effeminate men who blindly sabotage themselves and the society?

The statement is rhetorical and oversimplifies history. Feminism has advanced women's rights to education, work, and expression, aiding access to technologies like the internet since the 1990s. However, women pioneered early computing (e.g., Ada Lovelace, Grace Hopper) before modern waves, and access wasn't universally barred pre-feminism in the West. Globally, barriers persist, but the claim isn't entirely accurate—it's more symbolic than literal.
