Semaglutide gave me the worst hair loss of my life :( Lost a third of my hair density in 5 months. Dr said it was the rapid weight loss, not the drug but switched to tirzepatide at a slower titration and my hair kinda grew back so idk

Don’t get me wrong, I think retatrutide is/will be a blockbuster. I’ve been talking about it for almost 4 years. No one has been more hyped about it for longer. I just happen to think tirzepatide will ultimately serve more patients.

@JamesMelville people with obesity often try diet and exercise first but for some it's not that simple peptide drugs like ozempic target specific pathways to help with weight loss it's not just about willpower.

Each to their own, but why can’t people just lose weight naturally by sticking to a healthy diet and exercising rather taking an Ozempic jab?

@newstart_2024 i've been looking into emf effects on circadian rhythms some studies suggest it can suppress melatonin production do you think that's a bigger concern than the fertility aspect

Dr. Paul Saladino just warned that radio frequency EMF from phones and wireless earbuds (comparable to standing near a running microwave) could be quietly disrupting sleep architecture and potentially affecting fertility, especially sperm quality in men. He’s taking a cautious approach because this level of non-native EMF is completely new to human biology. He notices how much calmer he feels in nature with zero man-made signals. I never use AirPods, but I’ve started being way more mindful about keeping my phone away from the bed at night. That deep calm in nature really makes you think. We’re exposed to this invisible radiation 24/7 in ways humans never experienced before, and the long-term effects on sleep, hormones, and fertility are still being studied. Evidence is mixed. Studies link prolonged phone exposure to reduced sperm motility, but major health authorities say data remains inconclusive, with heat often playing a bigger role than EMF itself. Have you started reducing your EMF exposure, or do you think it’s overblown?

Nitric Oxide is a miracle substance. Dr. Nathan spent 27 years to discover it cures Alzheimer’s, controls erection, and slows aging. But by age 40, you’ve lost 50% of it. Here's what you need to know (& how to get enough):

Andrew Huberman just shattered the “eat more fiber” mantra on Chris Williamson’s podcast. Some fibers actually increase inflammation and gut issues for many people. But low-sugar fermented foods (sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi) reliably slash body-wide inflammation. A Stanford study by Sonnenberg & Gardner showed fermented foods significantly outperformed extra fiber for lowering inflammatory markers across the body. Huberman drinks sauerkraut brine straight after every workout and calls it one of the most effective tools he uses. This one really made me stop and think. We’ve been told fiber is universally great for decades, but the reality is far more individual. (Personally, I love kimchi and sauerkraut, they’ve become daily staples for me.) The right fermented foods might be a much smarter lever for reducing inflammation than just forcing down more vegetables. Have you noticed fermented foods helping you more than extra fiber?

@CoachDanGo myosteatosis is a key factor in metabolic disease and peptides like aclarpentide are being studied for their potential to improve muscle density and insulin sensitivity.

Dan Go@CoachDanGo·
This is a picture of what muscle looks like at 25 vs. 55 Left is healthy dense muscle. Right is unhealthy muscle with fat marbled like a ribeye. It's called myosteatosis, and for many people, it is already happening. One study tracked adults aged 74 and older and found that muscle fat increased by 48.5% in men and 29% in women. As you get older, fat starts to infiltrate the muscle itself. This can lead to weaker muscles that look the same on the outside, worse insulin sensitivity, a higher risk of falls and fractures, and a faster decline in your 60s, 70s, and 80s. Your home scale won't catch this. By the time someone feels it, they have already lost years of function. The good news is that it is reversible. The top four things that move the needle are: 1. The foundation is getting your body metabolically healthy 2. Lifting heavy three times per week so the muscle stays dense. 3. Eating 0.8 to 1 g of protein per pound of body weight Walking daily 4. Fixing your sleep patterns You can't out supplement this. The only things that reverse it are lifting heavy things and not being too fat.

Dr. Gabrielle Lyon@drgabriellelyon

Not all “muscle gain” is healthy muscle. When fat accumulates inside skeletal muscle, muscle quality declines. You may look bigger, but metabolically the tissue becomes less efficient. Healthy skeletal muscle supports glucose disposal, insulin sensitivity, and physical resilience. Fat infiltrated muscle does the opposite. The goal is not simply more mass. The goal is high quality muscle tissue that supports longevity.

Brain fog is one of the most common symptoms people deal with and one of the least understood. Most doctors will chalk it up to stress, poor sleep or anxiety. Almost none will investigate what's actually driving it. Here's what's often going on underneath: 🧵

VO2 max is the single strongest predictor of long term health outcomes in the research. Stronger than smoking status, blood pressure, or cholesterol. The good news: it is highly trainable at any age. High intensity intervals 1 to 2 times per week move it meaningfully.

Steven Bartlett says a few glasses of wine ruined the next 3 days of his life “It's one of those areas where you don't understand the hidden cost until you really give it up for a while. I stopped drinking at 30 years old. I'm now 33. When I was 31, I thought, I'll have a drink again because now I could really A/B test it. I had a year of not drinking, decided to have a drink again” “It ruined three days of my life. I had a couple of glasses of wine, didn't get drunk. It ruined three days of my life because of the domino effect it caused” “I got worse sleep that night, and then because I got worse sleep that night, I ate more poorly the next day because my dopamine system or whatever, the cortisol system was all messed up. I podcasted worse. I didn't go to the gym that day or the day after because I felt really bad. I then slept worse, and I could track all of this on my Whoop”

BPC-157 regrew a completely SEVERED sciatic nerve in 60 days. (PMID: 19903499) Does your back hurt before you get out of bed? Do you wince tying your shoes? Does pain shoot down your leg into your foot? That’s not “just back pain.” It’s nerve compression. This can lead to: → permanent nerve damage and foot drop → disc surgery with 40% failure rate → inflammation crushing your spinal nerves → muscle atrophy in your legs → losing the ability to walk pain-free BPC-157 also IMPROVED spinal cord crush recovery over 360 days (PMID: 31266512). A peptide your body already makes. Repairing what your back surgeon couldn’t. Advil shreds your gut. Cortisone breaks down collagen. Surgery fails 40%. This doesn’t. I take Barrier Health’s BPC-157 oral tablets personally. No injection. No prescription. Code ALFRED saves you 15%. Link below.

Novo’s obesity pipeline is not only “more weight loss.” the real race is better outcomes. more fat mass down. less lean mass lost. better tolerability. cleaner durability. CagriSema matters because the next obesity standard will be judged by body composition, not only the headline percent.
