Are we really going to have to do this all again?? You can’t (shouldn’t) substitute people that aren’t doctors into a job that requires an experienced and specialist doctor! This doesn’t even need explaining 🙄
Anisopoikilocyte@Anisocyte

To say that I am shocked about this job advert is is an understatement @nottmhospitals I hope you realise how complex and vulnerable Haem patients are, and how utterly dangerous this is, letting medically unqualified people play registrar in an extremely complex speciality 1/

@herbmedstu @wesstreeting Physician Associates are not assistants for resident (junior) doctors. We are supervised by consultants who earn well over £100,000 a year.

We negotiated and delivered pay rises worth 28.9%. This year’s pay award was the highest in the entire public sector. We cannot afford to re-open that pay award. I have offered talks without any preconditions. The BMA is refusing. Unreasonable. Unnecessary.
Dr Aadam Aziz@Aadam_Aziz

You refuse to negotiate and then call doctors “unreasonable” for not settling. £17.56/hour to run wards, save lives, and work through chronic understaffing. After 15 years of pay erosion, they’re asking for fairness. What’s not reasonable is slamming the door, then blaming them for walking away.

FINALLY- Decision @RCPhysicians investigation Removal from the Council of an elected member Barring standing for elections 12 months By a panel which is unknown - with zero right to reply. (To be ratified by Council on 15/7) For exposing chicanery around PAs by senior execs While prev PRCP and Reg have zero sanctions after their actions brought along an EGM @djnicholl Pretty much as expected by an organisation trying to suppress any dissenting voice Regrets? Nil You can try whatever you want - the direction around PAs has changed for good Kids- never ever give up a fight when you are doing the right thing. On the upside? RCP have asked me to see my GP for mental distress this may have caused me. That’s nice- no? 😊

@physicianassoci @Dr__Sarmy Why shouldn’t they be with a GP if someone else is available? GPs want to see some of those patients. We’re busy but we don’t want to deskill and - shock - we want to see our patients for a range of problems.

@LittlePersonDoc @medicalmodelbri Someone’s realised that some doctors really upset by someone one non doctor doing ‘medical work’. So let’s placate those doctors and not mention the word medicine when describing what the noctors do.

@medicalmodelbri I take this to mean that finally someone on high has recognised that PAs don’t study medicine and they don’t study a condensed version of medicine in 2 yrs. wonder who will be first to take legal action against Ms Watkins?

@parthaskar @wesstreeting Chat GPT: Feigned victimhood is when a person pretends to be a victim—of harm, injustice, abuse, or oppression—without actually having experienced the wrongdoing they claim. This behavior is typically used to manipulate others, gain sympathy, avoid responsibility, or gain some…

@parthaskar @wesstreeting The bully feigns victimhood by manipulating people through their emotions, especially guilt. Can include indignation, generally trying to make others feel sorry for them - a "poor-me" melodrama. Allows the bully to avoid answering the question and thus avoiding responsibility’

@iDrSunny Is EM still a medical speciality? Is any medical reasoning or skill required or used in it anymore? Shall we just shit down RCEM?

@Xeon4f145d96s1 Most PAs not totally happy with our name. It is confusing. If that’s the highlight of the Leng review then I think PAs will be overall happy with the outcome of the Leng review

@BMA_James_Steen If @worstall or his family needed treatment for a serious medical problem it would take a whole team of different professionals to treat them. If it was a minor issue he would likely be happy to see a PA. Most normal people can see that’s appropriate and more cost effective

@valhumphreys51 @Oldboatie @Megsenmumdr Chose to use a term to make yourself appear intellectually superior and a feminist virtue signaller to boot no doubt. Glad to see you’ve now removed it as just makes you look daft.
