I miss music nfts. Crate digging on Catalog, then chasing 1-of-25s on Sound. The community, the rarity, setting my alarm for 3am in the morning to be online for a drop (pain of living in europe). It was the first “new” experience I’d felt in music for a decade. … especially in digital music, which has faded into such productized, algorithm-driven, blandness. Obviously we were in our little bubble that couldn't scale, but it was pretty magic and I miss it. Anyway … shout out to @soundxyz_ for distributing their OP grant to artists. Always a joy to text a bunch of artists and tell them there’s a money waiting in their wallet. the future is still onchain ... and I still believe there will be a market for "music as art" ... maybe just a little too early.
