Franz Schubert: Variations on an Original Theme in A Flat Major, Op. 35, D. 813. 🎹 💙 Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim two of the greatest solo pianists share the stage at @berlinphil and perform one of the best works ever written by Schubert, a literary classic for duo.

I don’t think mechanistic models are necessarily special. I think they’re effective because they are naturally causal and inherently explainable. I think any modeling framework that was causal and explainable would be just as effective.

Our little group of <10 #ImageForensics sleuths cannot possibly keep up with the amount of #FlawCytometry, fake Western blots, and manipulated transwell assays being published after "peer review".

I don't know who needs to hear this but a claim that was made without any evidence can be rejected without any evidence.

A history lesson for people who think that history doesn't matter: What's the big deal about railroad tracks? The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. That's an exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used? Well, because that's the way

In the US when someone asks you how you are it’s common to say “I’m great” regardless of how you’re doing. In French and German we will answer something like « ça va » or „es geht“ to say we’re doing ok. In Russian we’ll answer «нормально»: no more horrible than the usual.

@TomEatonSA Yes, moderate meant something very different. The PFP only adopted universal franchise as one of its principles in 1978/79.

Tweeps have told me that Anton Rupert did not run for office in the NP but was only urged to do so by the Cape branch because he was a "moderate". Given that he wrote an editorial in 1978 criticizing universal franchise I'm assuming "moderate" meant something different back then.
