Thus, the Church maintains the symbolic and spiritual 40 days of penance. 𝗩𝗜𝗜. 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗗𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗘 𝟰𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦? Not just “giving up chocolate.” True Lent includes: ✠ Frequent Confession ✠ Serious examination of conscience ✠ Daily Rosary ✠ Spiritual reading ✠ Mortification of the senses ✠ Acts of charity ✠ Reparation for sin Especially in our age of comfort, distraction, and moral collapse, Lent must be taken seriously. 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗫𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 The desert is not punishment, it is preparation. Easter glory only comes after desert discipline. “They that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its vices and concupiscences.” — Galatians 5:24 Enter the desert. Do not waste the 40 days.
