@YIMBYkieran The thing is - starmer going has consequences. Firstly, Reforms message of "send Starmer a message" would appear to have worked - and could risk more people voting Reform (when in actual fact, all they do locally is demand a UFO Watch panel!)

I'm usually a Davey Defender.... but this election did clearly show the difference. In Oldham, we suffered from the division of Reform, and the Greens rise splitting the vote, losing us many seats.

Ed Davey thinks that there's not much that can be done about the Liberal Democrats losing votes to the Greens in urban areas. This is utterly wrong - and a sign of something gone badly wrong that he is saying this.

Reform has done well and taken votes from the Conservatives, no doubt about that. But these results also show Conservative resilience in urban areas, while Labour looks set to drift left and the Lib Dems have failed to break through. The route back means leading with the economy and the everyday issues that matter most to people.
