Set in the bleak desolation of post-war Japan, it is not so much a monster movie as a human movie with a monster in it. I’m so glad I saw it in the theater so I could get the full cinematic experience it deserves to be seen with. Much respect to the filmmakers, cast and crew.

“Godzilla Minus One” came out last year, but it has been briefly put back into theaters to mark the 70th anniversary of the very first Godzilla film. Those who say this is the best Godzilla film since that first one are absolutely correct. I saw it last night and it is brilliant.

@J__Swift Over the years I’ve come to prefer keeping things in fully enclosed cabinets or drawers so they don’t collect dust, or in this case, sawdust. But I have considered putting something on the sides/back where I could hang tools currently in use. Pegboard maybe or just more plywood.

I finished building my workbench today. Except for the bottom shelf, which might have to wait until I find a cheap piece of plywood somewhere. It will be nice to have a decent table to set my projects on. Once I recover from this one and feel like doing more.

@neonne Thank you. I’m really happy with the wheels. I can roll it into the corner when I’m not using it, and they lock in place when I am. I made it narrow enough to get through the doorway, so I can probably even use it outside if I want to.

Also, and this was never in doubt, I’m going to eat my box of Hostess cupcakes even though they contain animal fat. I will just have to be more careful in the future. I will be reading the ingredients more carefully on whatever sweet goods I decide to replace them with. 🧁🧐

I really hate wasting food, so I decided not to return that jar of messed-up peanut butter to the store who would have thrown it away. I only had to dig down about an inch to get to more decent looking peanut butter. Put the top bit out for the animals and it quickly disappeared.

@J__Swift I’m so sorry you are both going through this terrible time. This is why I will not allow myself to have a pet. The secondhand sadness I feel for your situation is bad enough. I hope you can both find some happy moments in your remaining time together.
