@punyeet @CSI_Starbase @RyanHansenSpace I think that would be tough without launching to the north or even further south for the ground track to overfly Starbase 90 minutes later

This vehicle was in phenomenal condition! Really shows the TPS team has been putting in work!

@mcrs987 Unsure if the lower angle of attack for flight 12 is an operational change or if they needed a higher lift to drag to make it to the landing site due to losing an RVac?
English

@CSI_Starbase @RyanHansenSpace do they have the cross-range capability to do a once around RTLS?
English

@RyanHansenSpace Yeah that first recovery attempt seems like it’s probably going to be right around the corner. Wouldn’t be surprised if they went for it on F13, if not then, the following one for sure.

@RLMBD1001 @fiagirly I think this was the one time where it wasn't true, the mclaren definitely had an advantage over the ferrari. And lewis did lose momentum when piastri overtook him and its not like leclerc is gonna slow down for him
English

Piastri overtakes Hamilton and so does Leclerc. 💔💔💔💔

@StarwatchRv3 yup they did validate the grid fins and that it can stabilise it from an off nominal attitude/spin. Pretty impressive honestly, and the hot staging ring did not come off like in flight 3 despite the insane entry speeds and dynamic pressure
English

@HalcyonHypnotic @Jonharson @DJSnM but those engines didnt even start up, this one was running and went kaboom
English

@Jonharson @DJSnM SpaceX lost 2 inner engines in the 13 ring during flight 7 or 8 and still had a nominal boostback burn and landing
English

@coinmaninspace @StarwatchRv3 @megagoose11 yeah thats my thoughts as well, probably should wait for the flip to finish and the fuel to settle
English

@punyeet @StarwatchRv3 @megagoose11 It launched with 33. They should just wait until it’s done the flip maneuver before igniting the outside engines. It’s probably having a hard time supplying enough fuel during the bank because fuel at the top of the downcomer is experiencing a low G environment
English

It looked fine until they tried to ignite the outer ring😭
Goose@megagoose11
It was SO FUCKING VIOLENT
English

@StarwatchRv3 @megagoose11 ye they probably will be changing the startup sequence😂😂, or maybe 33 engines puts it over its structural limits
English

@megagoose11 @punyeet I think they should start with 13, and then go to 33 if they can. just yk, for backup ig.
English

@StarwatchRv3 @megagoose11 decreases the time it goes downrange, so essentially it needs lesser energy overall for the burn
English

@punyeet @megagoose11 How? Im not being snarky, just curious!
English

@StarwatchRv3 @megagoose11 more efficient to do higher g boostback tho
English

@megagoose11 I don't think they should do a 33 engine booster back. Thats wayyyyyyy too much thrust.

@Orbital_Perigee How many Gs would that pull in the vacuum of space? 💀
