Today’s #KUCancerFighter hero is Aloisio Angianga, an 18-year-old from Trenton, MO battling a rare cancer: Stage IV Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma.   Aloisio’s condition was first discovered when he collapsed during football practice in 2024. The diagnosis came shortly there after and despite intensive treatment at Children’s Mercy in KC, the tumors spread to his areas around is lungs and one specific location blocking his airway. This has caused constant coughing and shortness of breath. He’s currently on a special clinical trial receiving treatment in New York, but doctors have said he’ll eventually require surgery to remove the tumors and the buildup behind them. It’s already been a grueling couple of years for this courageous warrior, but Aloisio remains a pillar of strength, leaning on his strong faith and trying to continue to be a great example to his 5 younger siblings despite the incredibly difficult hand he’s been dealt.   His family says they are so grateful for the love, prayers and support they’ve received and they want people to know that anyone walking a similar journey is not walking alone – such an impressive and admirable mindset despite all they’ve been through.   Aloisio, today’s call is for you, brother!  We are so impressed by your strength, determination and unwavering faith. Jayhawk Nation is pulling for you! 💙❤️
