This is how matters are made complicated and stretched for consumption of the lobbies ! The Governer authorizes any CM to continue as a Care Taking CM till elections are over. He can simply set aside the authorisation and ask the winning party to form the new Govt.

Governor can maximum ask Mamata Banerjee to resign, but the Governor can never force her to do so. If Didi does not resign, the Governor can recommend President's rule. In that case, no political party will be able to remain as the ruler in Bengal. Again we have to face election in that case

Normally it is the aggrieved victim who decides the nature of crime he faces, not the criminal. Not in the case of Jihad. Lot of people like @khanumarfa are present to defend a phenomena which is globally visible. Once they start criticizing the phenomena, the crime will end.

IMPORTANT: When the Supreme Court sounds like the executive, we have a problem. A constitutional court can’t become an executive court. SIR hearing is a prime example. All religions take a dig at Hinduism on the basis of the caste system it has. All claim they have no internal discrimination of the caste type. SC seems logical in taking this decision. You can't have all the benefits of the country your way @sardesairajdeep !

Big story: No person who professes a religion other than Hinduism, Sikhism or Buddhism shall be a member of Scheduled caste. Conversion to any other religion results in loss of Scheduled caste status : Supreme Court. Basically, Dalit Christians can’t take advantage of SC protection. Qs is: does religion change end caste discrimination? Courts may need a reality check!
